That doesnt mention for finals. Just home and away games. Essential crows actually mentions finals as does the Adelaide Oval Football membership

So is it free entry to the sanfl double header this week with Crows silver membership? (Want to go to Sturt v Glenelg game) Does "if permitted" mean if SANFL wanna milk us out of more money? View attachment 1486506
Not sure if it applies to Adelaide members but as a traditional SANFL club member if you’ve attended all home games you automatically qualify for two free tickets to finals games bar the GF, if this applies to all finals if your team is still playing or not I’m not sure. My guess is that the SANFL are keen for people to attend and I doubt they’d put barriers up for attendance

Why do people assume any reason for picking Turner other than they thought he was the best available player?

Sometimes selections are just for the obvious reason, and they can just be wrong. Turner could have just been the next player on their board.
I think assumptions have come about as it was so mind-bogglingly obvious that he wasn't the best available player. Recruiting isn't easy and most times you can understand the rationale behind why a player is selected, even if doesn't pan out eg. Jones, Mcasey. But nothing about Turner has ever suggested anything other than good honest SANFL midfielder, of which you can find multiple versions in every SANFL team going around. Playing 3rd banana in a Glenelg midfield at 25 doesn't scream out "invest an AFL list spot in this player". I'd love to know what attributes the recruiters were looking at - the game against us was the outlier, not the norm.

3rd banana that made the SANFL state squad and likely plays if not out injured at the time?

And?

Should we have drafted Kyle Presbury, Riley Knight or Patrick Wilson? Partington has lit up the local comp (and is only 25) for the last 3-4 years and can’t get another spot on an AFL list, what did Turner offer that Partington (or his partner in crime Snook) didn’t?

Every other SANFL mid-season draftee was young with some pretty clear upside (Carmichael, Menzie, Bauer, Williams), bar Durdin who was recruited to cover Carlton’s KPD woes at the time. What about Turner did we see as such a point of difference that he was worth drafting?

the problem is is that everyone is focusing on why we picked Turner and not the circumstances in which Turner was picked.

we had two spots.. we overlooked a player in Carmichael that looked exactly like what we needed and instead chose Turner..

And Turner wouldve been there at our second pick!.. the lad himself even said the day after the MSD no other club besides Adelaide even bother to speak to him.

thats the shocking part about it all.. not that Turner has turned out to be shite.. its that we couldve had several other players instead, some of which have had AFL debuts already and have shown some very promising signs, AND STILL GOT TURNER ASWELL!.

what a complete and utter joke. its almost bordering on industrial sabotage!.. how can they be so utterly incompetent?

Would I have picked him no but he had obviously shown enough at SANFL level to interest somebody at the AFC, absolute spuds even in the SANFL don't make the state squad. Culley was obviously the player that would have been on top of most club boards, probably ours as well.

Not suggesting he's a spud. Like I said, he's a perfectly good SANFL mid, there's nothing wrong with that. Not taking a shot at Brett, moreso the selection process itself. Parnell was a decent selection last time around and the sort of player we should be looking at, someone who hasn't put it all together yet but with a potentially elite attribute. Turner was essentially a known quantity.

He was absolutely 3rd banana, if that. Played a blinder against the Crows 2nds and maybe that was enough to be drafted.

State Squad was announced after Round 4. It's based off the previous season as much as anything.

Hopefully with an eye to 2023 they'll swap Frampton and McAsey's roles for Finals because all signs point to Frampton not being with us in 2023 and we really should be using McAsey in the role he was drafted for...Defence. Frampton is a well proven SANFL Full Forward.

Agree. Frampton at Full forward will cause a lot more headaches for the opposition anyway than McAsey at full froward.

Interesting weekend of SANFL results, positions could’ve drastically changed but they ended up back where they started.
Some teams leading into finals have found some form and some have some questions marks over them.
It’ll be interesting how Adelaide go and how dedicated they are to success.
Well my SANFL side south Adelaide is out of the finals race.

But looking at the 5 sides in the finals.

Don't want North to win with that 19th man scandal in that 2018 prelim final.

Norwood I can tolerate getting the premiership.

Don't want Glenelg to win mainly because they sank the bloody boots in Souths in that 2021 prelim final.

I don't really care about the crows SANFL side.

Sturt I can tolerate getting a premiership. Only problem is that they have to win it from 4th or 5th. They did make a grand final in 1998 from Elim final spot.

So Norwood or Sturt for me for the SANFL flag
