Yeah embarrassing for the Swans and GWS that they couldn't beat the Bulldogs when they had over double the free kicks as them in two close finals.

The combined free kick count over the prelim and GF last year was 43-21 in the Dogs favour, are you going to tell me that has no effect on the results?

Sometimes teams earn more frees because they're first for the ball. Free kick count on its own doesn't tell the full story, depends when/why/where they were paid.
Anyone who thinks they won because of the umps is either biased or has no idea.

Free kicks 26-19 in favour of the Bulldogs today.

They can't blame the umpires for not going back to back, they did their bit to make it happen just like they did last year.

Umpires don't suffer premiership hangovers like players do though.

Certainly not the umps fault, they went 8-1 in the last quarter today.

Hawthorn won less in 2009.

But that doesn't suit your narrative.

Your sooking is laughable

I don't get all the dogs hate.

Both sides were pretty ordinary today, neither of us exploited the breeze.
We were fortunate that we had a huge advantage in ruck and that Stringer went down early.

It took us 3 1/2 quarters to finally try hitting targets I50 and got 3 goals out of it.

Still very underwhelmed by my side, but looking forward to the next 5 years with Marshall, Wines, SPP, Atley, Houston, Howard etc developing and making us a decent side.

I've always said so. They won the flag, that's the best team by definition. Other teams have caught up this year, and their weakness in the ruck and talls has been exposed. Not complicated.

Totally agree, other teams have caught up. My argument was against those that called last year a fluke or result of umpires, which is ridiculous

Strangely enough we aren't looking to blame the umpires for our poor season this year, and didn't thank them for our win last year.

Because as anyone who knows half a clue about football (ie not you), they really don't make much difference at all.

We were ordinary this year, we weren't last year. It's as simple as that.

Given the BF obsession with youth, I think that having 9 players aged 22 and under was an interesting stat.

Always liked the dogs, but Christ what a floppy and sooky performance. 8-1 free kicks to the Dogs in the last, good riddance. Toby McLean is a blight on the game.

I mean, are you 'fortunate' that you have better talls and rucks or is that just you guys having a better side? Spent sizeable picks and salary to get two senior talls in Ryder (AA form) and Dixon (contested marking beast), that's not fortunate, that's great list management.

Not that I watch SANFL but from what your fans say it's about time these young blokes were rewarded instead of persisting with the likes of Impey and Pittard (injured this week but before that I mean).
