head says brisbane. heart also says brisbane to run over the top of us, if we even have the lead after half time.

first hurdle to get past is the fact the team has played like poo the last third of the season and devoid of confidence, and now we're supposed to front up to one of the big boys in their own playground. any semblance of a healthy early bris lead and carlton may well pack it in for the year.

cripps has had his colours lowered in his last few games against bris which doesn't bode well.

on the other hand, team should feel grateful they're in the finals and should leave it all out there. some promising signs against the saints despite pissing the game away.

No, not a bigger farce. Just the fact the guy that would've won it got injured. It happens.

No legal team was required.

which guy ?

Neale won it fair and square

Also Carlton rolling the dice taking "injured" players into the match, a ballsy decision that could backfire if they only have 14-15 players able to play through the match from the second quarter - onward.

Didn't Daicos miss a handful of games last year injured?

Edit: yes, still fair & square, which was kinda my point. You can't compare that to a player who won the brownlow a couple of weeks after knocking a player unconscious (Cal Ah Chee), being found guilty, appealing, having the appeal rejected, then being overturned on a technicality. Yayyyy..... what a champion

The fact the Blues are taking the risk of playing Docherty shows how desperate the Blues really are. If the Blues were confident, Docherty doesn’t play. They would save the risk for the semi/prelim. Consistency in the 23 is all so important heading into a finals campaign. Which they have had none of.

Lions form, all but the last 3 4th quarters, has been best in the comp. My theory is the Lions were fatigued and in need of a week off after the 9 game winning stretch. They’ve had a much needed week off. They will be fresh and firing at the Gabba on Saturday, welcoming back Payne and Starcevic.

I was proud of the boys performance on grand final day last year. We are too experienced in finals now, to give this one up. Lions with the win by 45pts

Team going into elimination final select team that will give us the best chance at victory... DESPERATION PLAY!!!!!!!!!

Wtf do you people expect them to do? We're massive underdogs for good reason, Charlie is wearing an ankle brace at training, TDK apparently did his first main session in months and if we lose all the players go on an extended break til next year anyway... No crap we're gonna roll the dice and hope it pays off. We don't really have another option outside of playing a few 3rd and 4th gamers...

Lets make it fair. You play Docherty & we play Kiddy and no one is allowed to tackle them. Touch rules only.

Of course they should roll the dice with the guy in the ankle brace. I was talking about Docherty mate. You know, the 30 year old, coming back from an ACL in 25 weeks… after already having a history of multiple ACLs…

The only one I'm really sketchy on is Docherty. It's fairly obvious why and that has been backed up by medical experts opinions over the past 24 hours.

He'll probably be fine but the risk to reward ratio is not desirable, compared to having a standard 12 month rehab and attacking 2025 with a stronger chance at a flag.

Whats the worse that happens? He re-injures it and retires? End of the day he's putting his hand up to play and the clubs selected him on the fact that even after all his knee injuries he's a very very good player.

He'd know if he does it again he's probably done.

No different to any of the other injured blokes trying to get up for this game from a club perspective imo.

A H&A specialist is old Charlie 'please sir may I have another free' Curnow.

Only 3 goals across 3 games in last year's finals series after winning the Coleman.
