Melbourne and Collingwood done stuffed up

Grundy is the best ruck in the competition and the proof is in the pudding, Sydney would not be where they are without him.
No, Melbourne stuffed up. We won a flag after getting Grundy off our books. The Dees could have palmed him off to any number of clubs but the AFL pulled their strings and had him sent to their ugly red-jumpered step child.

Imagine being the modern Colliwobbles though.
2014 is really the only one that they made a mess off when coming in as the favourite. They pinched 2012 from a favoured Hawks. '16 was close and while the Bulldogs had come in finishing much lower, a lot of factors served to work to the latter's advantage such as getting injured players back, the benefit of the first pre-finals bye and some pretty lop-sided umpiring. 2022 they were a clear 2nd to a rampaging Geelong outfit and a younger, less complete incarnation of the side they have now.

They've been the best side all year with their best better than anyone else's. They had a late-season lapse but have timed their finals run well. They'll be favourites against whichever side makes it.

Collingwood stuffed up palming him off to us to give us the chance to palm him off to Sydney..

Is that how this works?? 🤣

A kick from winning in 06
Two kicks away in '12
Screwed by umpires in '16

In addition to their two flags.

They've performed pretty well.
Think you’ll find they won in 12.
If they don’t win next week it will be their 4th grand final loss in a decade which is a lot in the modern game. Probably have to go back to the cats from 89-95 for a worse grand final record.
For what it’s worth though I think they’ll win.

Well, we may have palmed him off, but you can't say it was a mistake because the money we saved let us pay for Hill, Mitchell & McStay which lead to the premiership. The Dees just needed to stick Max in the square and leave Grundy on the ball and we wouldn't be in this mess.

The sack Hinkley thread going to be a hoot tonight.
Nah. Hes completely safe. Got a fantastic record for his team since he's been there...

As a neutral supporter, I personally think he did a fantastic job last week when ALL the odds were against him. .

Got his team up for victory with half his players missing and put an end to his opponents season which made my day. Just absolutely Fantastic stuff if you ask me

Collingwood would have gone back to back with Grundy ;)

Fox brought up the fact that Sydney will have played in 7 of the last 20 Grand Finals.

That's very impressive.

Imagine having a strike rate of playing in more than 1 of 3 Grand Finals played?

And if Cats win tomorrow that'll be 7 of the last 18 Grand Finals to go with it.
