Injuries are a huge factor for the Baggers but not an excuse.

Small forwards are a huge concern for us but hoping we get Cerra and McGovern back for this one.

Cerra, McGovern and Saad are really the only players of quality to come back into the lineup.
Martin is similar to Rohan, burst player who is not really a commodity.

Cats without Guthrie & Stewart so it evens things out.

I dont think you understand our game plan.

Fogarty is likely the biggest out for us. His 5-7 tackles in front half is critical.

We only had one intercept defender against GWS (Kemp) - this team likes having at least two preferably three. So McGovern and Marchbank are losses.

Martin isnt a burst player he is a structural and his finals games proves it we need his marking and tackling and mis match.

Motlop is by far our most talented youngster - we didn't have any players against GWS that can snap for goal. Motlop and Martin can.. Durdin, Owies can't.

Not to mention Docherty we are missing him badly.

You think only Carlton fans watch your games?

I already told you McGovern is a loss. He's much improved.
Fogarty is hardly your biggest loss. His pressure has been excellent but we aren't talking about a newbie here who has been managing 16 disposals, 4 tackles, multiple pressure acts and 5 goals for the season.
Saad's a bigger loss as he makes small forwards defend. His creativity to make things happen from back 50 is what leads to the tall timbers getting separation down the field.

Docherty is out for the year. No point bringing up his name. Zac Williams turned out to be a handy signing after all.

We have a very good midfield. May not have a superstar capable of turning up and averaging 28 disposals every week but it's an excellent mix of size and speed. Bowes, O'Connor, Holmes all 190cm+. Dangerfield & Blicavs two other big bodies.
Then a terrific blend of defensive-orientated players in Atkins, Parfitt and Bruhn (throw Clark in there too).

What will hurt us is the heavy legs from last weekend. Long flight back but Cats will be ready.
Not fussed about Stewart. He's a loss but De Koning, Henry, Kolodjashnij and O'Sullivan will be good enough to hold up their end of the bargain.
Heavy legs is the thing for me. We were gassed in the last quarter against the Doggies after a wet game the previous week, so might see the same here.

Would want to be 4-5 goals up at 3QT or risk have them run over the top of us…

You think only Carlton fans watch your games?

No, but often opposition supporters don't truly recognize a player's value to a side.

Sometimes that's because they don't watch particularly closely, sometimes it's because they choose to ignore what they see and prefer to believe something other than the reality.

Not sure why you're talking down Carlton's injury list, most who don't fall into one or both of the above categories are able to recognize it.

Geelong home game at GMHBA.. Geelong 100%
Geelong home game at the MCG.... hard to pick
AFL wont lockout 50k fans by playing at that Hockey field which is GMHBA.

A New grandstand and a few shiny new seats doesnt change the 1940 dimensions of the oval itself and it is a crud ground dimension wise.

Oh they do watch closely only to cry over the umpires when Charlie gets a free kick once every 2 weeks on average. 🤪

The hate is strong and delicious as this site melts every time we win or even get a single free kick! 🤣

Carlton gets another team, with their best defender out.

Take it when you can I suppose.
As opposed to our own injury list???

Or is that just ignored and only used to discredit us? Common theme amongst your mob’s supporters which isn’t surprising!

Every team have injuries.
It is which particular injuries a team has, against certain match ups that matter more.

Or does this concept evade you.

Yeah no shit and Weitering also missed the opening games of the season which we won.

Didnt hear oppo supporters making a case for him or us in that time. But all of a sudden it becomes important if the teams playing us dont have key defenders available. 🤦‍♀️

Let your hatred and excuses flow mate as the salt flows.

Or does the fact Weiters missed so many early games with no pre season hardly as well evade you??

Every team doesn't have their entire first choice HB line injured though.
Yeah they do just ask Jackson! Surely this hasnt evaded you?? 🤣

Gotta love Pies fans! 🤪

That may be true on a team sheet on paper, but football is played on grass.

The most impactful injuries are those which prevent a team from playing the way they want to play.

Look at Nathan Murphy from your mob as a classic example.

A key back averaging under 10 touches per game isn’t a big loss, right?

Or do you say, well actually, Nathan Murphy allows Moore, Howe and the rest of the defensive unit to do what they do best?

Reality is, teams focus far more on trying to perfect what they do, than specifically ‘winning’ a certain matchup.

Fogarty is hugely important. Leading the tackles inside 50 in the entire league before suspension/broken wrist.

Exactly what have you achieved in the last couple of decades to be salty about?
You have had so many No1 picks because of your constant poor performances and achieved absolutely ZERO.

So I don't get the salty comment.
And please don't mistake hatred for pity.

Well explained :thumbsu:

Only crying is coming from you making excuses for every team we play while ignoring our own.

Anyway keep hating and for a team like us that has won nothing for decades this forum sure is up and about with hatred directed at us and you only need to look at game day threads and the amount of content ANY Carlton game has! Literally hundreds if not thousands more posts in any game we play compared to other teams games!

Feeling entitled much? :D
Oh how I have missed Carlton supporters.

Looking forward to September, when you will inevitably go quiet again.

For this game though, I think you win by 3-4 goals.

Honestly not many Carlton supporters i know think we will be pushing for a flag this season. Still have to many holes list wise and Fantasia getting games is deplorable and depressing.

OK so all bantering aside.

Whilst I agree with Fantasia playing, isn't a sign of success.
Carlton will learn and improve from last year and I do think you will be there at the pointy end of the season.

I actually hope we meet in the finals, as that would be massive.
