Stengle is such a clever and unselfish footballer. Criminal that we let him go.

I agree. I knew we made a huge mistake (yes one of many mistakes over recent years), we should have sorted him out instead of giving up on him. Collingwood had a similar issue with De Goey, look at him today.

Very impressive win from Geelong. They were outplayed in many aspects but kept their composure all game leading pretty much all the way by taking their chances when they got them.

Around stoppages there were plenty of soft Carlton frees, and two lead to goals in that last surge. Geelong had 10 frees and were scragged most of the game at least as much. De Koning was decapitated late for no free.

Carlton lost the game from terrible field kicking and poor goal conversion. That's all.
We should have won despite the umpires if we kicked well. Doesn't mean they didn't have a significant impact. And please if your argument is free kick numbers then there is no point having this discussion

Bottom line if that sort of umpiring happened for us over 4 quarters like today this thread would have shut down BF.

Geelong may be getting the rub of the green, but Carlton are not helping themselves with their kicking
Yep, burned a lot of grass on too many field kicks and wasted a lot of shots on goal.
Well done to the Cats though. They played great and very deserving of the win.

Geelong was outplayed and we didn't have a defence nor small forward line.

It was expected with our half back and small forward line decimated.

..at the end of the day Geelong was Bluetalised in the middle.
Aaaand here come the excuses.

Carlton played a Melbourne-esque game today of dominating territory and inside 50s, but using the ball as well as GFL side. It doesn't stand up against efficient sides.

The good news is that could easily be rectified throughout the year. But you can't get away with butchering it and choking in front of goal on the big stage.

Wow seriously, if it wasn’t for the umps , Carlton win that easily,

Carlton fans should rightly feel cheated after that

They gave them 4 frees at the end to get them close, nice troll..... Cameron was waltzing into a goal in the 2nd after a dodgy call also, you clearly didn't watch the game, so thats ok.

Its not an excuse we had 40% of the salary cap on the injury list.
