On paper it's a non contest.
Forwards - Dogs
Mids - Dogs
Defence - Even
Ruck - Dogs

If the Hawks can use the MCG well and bring the intensity they have a chance
Meek has had a better year than English

Dogs will flog them unfortunately, be lopsided. Hawks had a good season and some great form, but I think it's been helped by the draw at times, when they went to Geelong they got flogged.

I'd rather the Hawks win, Dogs more likely to win the flag if either did .

Best two teams in except for the teams that all finished above them 😂. Dogs will be out in the semi.
Honestly think this will be a one sided affair to the dogs as well.

We all know that Jones got off because it's a final and nothing else.

Nothing to do with "VicBias" because they are playing a Victorian team lol.

It just makes the AFL look so silly because Ash got done a week before for something very similar.
They really need to take a stance they can back up in finals.

Hard to predict the game tbh.

On paper the Dogs look better but Hawks have beaten a lot of teams this year with better teams on paper. Dogs one of them.
Like most games the winner of the midfield will win the game. Dogs forwards can be scary when on and we have an undersized backline but if the delivery is poor when we can waltze it out like we did when the Crows had Walker, Fogerty and Thilthorpe a few rounds ago.

Similarly, with poor entry into our forward line, players like Jones and Lobb will intercept easy

Bookies odds are probably correct having Dogs slight favourites but you'd be brave to call it either way.

Hawthorn have a lot of Richmond 2014 about them.

Start the season crap, then go on a hot run (Richmond won 10 games in a row to finish the home&away season), before getting absolutely smashed in the finals by a far superior Port.

Hawks have had a fairly easy run the past 10 games with most of their big wins coming against rubbish sides, while being thrashed by Geelong and ironed out by a better, more experienced GWS side in the 4th quarter. Should be an interesting test.

Just like how we all know the game is going to be played at the MCG because it's finals. Just got to accept these unfair realities.

To me it didn’t look like his head actually hit the ground but Ash one did. Difference as a result for mine.

He got off because there was no medical assessment, either by the GWS team or the AFL directed one. Once that didn't happen its low grade and only a fine. Plus his head never hit the turf.

Hawthorn's best wins this year are Brissy @ Marvel, Giants in Launy and Freo in Launy. Got the best of the Dogs as well in an even contest. Doggies best is Giants away, Freo @ Marvel, Carlton @ Marvel, Geelong away, Sydney away and considering circumstances yesterday v. the Giants. Reads better for the Dogs but that won't mean much come first bounce,

Really is even. Hawks forwardline is the type of offence which can cause us issues and they can win a clearance battle against most teams.
I guess we'll be hoping for a drier day to let our talls go to work in our front half.

Both teams seem to have spent the past 12 months getting speed on the ball so I imagine the contest will be pretty good from a neutral's perspective. Really hard one to tip. And where does Sicily play?

The Hawks have looked brilliant leading up to the finals but apart from whichever opposition they face I think the other legit thing that could get in their way is themselves and the occasion.
I disagree on the occasion getting to them.

They have effectively had elimination finals for months now and only been beaten comfortably once.

The huge matches in front of big, noisy crowds were for dustys 300th, Collingwood with their season on the line and Carlton in what was called an elim final.

They didn't just win them, they relished the stage and won by over 10 goals.

Bulldogs might still win (they are a bloody good side) but it won't be bc they are over awed by the occasion. Not this group

We'll need him down back, but he'll start as the spare with Frost, Weddle and Scrimshaw lining up on Darcy, Naughton and JUH respectively.

100% down back.
One of those players that can pinch hit forward but when they do it full time aren't as good

Richmond 2014. Does that mean we’re headed for another threepeat?
