Can tell you right now that was 100% a correct free kick. If a ruckman blocks the other to the point that no one is under the drop of the ball it is a free kick. Can remember watching the new interpretation at training during the year. The new interpretation actually allowed more blocking and ruckcraft to take place but when you go so far as to not even contest the ball yourself it's too far. Great call from the umpire.
