Imo, Ken loses control of his emotions when the heat is on.

He has form in losing emotional control post siren, this is not his first rodeo. There are many examples.

The reason why they pour so much funding into NSW/QLD junior footy and set up their AFL academy system and access for the 4 AFL clubs.


AFL is a TV league.



SA is the orphaned step child now.

Port Adelaide Magpies sabotaged the entry of a SA team ie Adelaide Crows into the VFL/AFL and we lost so much leverage when we entered.

We definitely could have bargained/negotiated better terms when we entered the comp in 91.

Credit to the VFL in expanding their league. Used Port, and Norwood, as pawns to trigger the SANFL into action. And raiding their financial coffers to prop up their broke clubs.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but did anyone hear Captain Rozee comments after the game?

Rozee was spiking about Port’s media treatment during the week after their 84pts home final loss

To me, this highlights the clubs fragile mindset and soft underbelly

If they truly can’t understand that the media blowtorch comes after being knocked out in straight sets in 2023, and a 84pts home final loss in 2024 - then they have serious challenges moving forward and have a captain that is soft as butter.

Can looks fragile especially when you compare how strong clubs approach things, whatever works I guess, cause they manage a win everytime there is scrutiny or a petty media comment (eg. Brisbane and Geelong flogging, last years 13 win streak after losing to us in their bars showdown, Rachele and Ginnivan).

Wouldn't mind us having a coach who knows what works best for our players. Nicks is dead set useless.

Not disagreeing with you re Hinkley's finals record. They've generally gone into finals with abit of hype and in good form, shit the bed, get the media pile on, and that's when they seem to click into gear with that "us against rest" shit.

Some people might need a reminder about the kind of player Sam Mitchell was. Great player, but a dirty sniper. Him and Jordan Lewis represented the worst of Hawks culture in that era.

We extended our undeserving coach for 2 years and publicly stated it was to eliminate media noise around his contract. Glass houses.

The Sydney v GWS final remains the highest quality match thus far. If Sydney bring that for a full game and Port are off next week… well, it could be messy.

Unfortunately, probably will be a competitive game. The Swans need to absorb the early huff and puff and keep within arms reach, they can overrun them. If they play with freedom and the effort they brought vs Hawthorn it will be an interesting game, and with their record against Sydney, it is anything but a walkover for the Swans.
Syd are going to need good games from their barometers, who I believe are Blakey, Papley, Heeney, and to a lesser degree, Grundy. Also, Jordon and Rowbottom doing jobs on JHF and Butters and will go a long way toward winning the game.

The huffing and puffing, the chest beating, the 'play for dad Kenny', the 'Creed', Never tear up our tarps ... etc etc... All that garbage and hollow rhetoric has now been used up and they actually have to go on the road and play the best team.
