Pre-game entertainment is terrible in any context. And somehow the AFL always do it even worse.

Just as well De Koning and Hawkins or Cameron didn't win the Rising Star and Coleman respectively - would've been hard to prepare for the GF and be in the pre-game motorcade at the same time.

I guess the thinking behind the decision is that O'Connor has had much more recent game time

While for Menegola he hasn't played for 43 days

Maybe it was a greater risk to bring in a player with no football for a month, compared with a slight shuffling of the decks with bringing in O'Connor

Agree. That was the logic - almost last out first in.

If there was massive difference between them, then maybe it wouldnt have been that simple. Also the flexibility in the team (Duncan, smith 2E) created the option to not worry about “like for like”. I am happy with decision
