If GC loss forces some strong decisions such as flagged in this thread, then we will have responded appropriately and the club will ultimately be better off. However Vs GWS I would like to see a CFC team with balance and effectiveness/ scoring efficiency.

From here I'd like to see O'Brien and Nate Brown back in the side which with both Keefe and Goldy available gives us the opportunity to move Reid forward and give Cloke the occasional run in the ruck. I'm a bit sick of seeing Cloke's massive tank and his efforts to win the ball wasted on kicks to his dad in the stands. Time to get some more return from such dominance and utilise Reid's superior kicking skills where they will hurt the opposition!

You would drop Sidebottom over Krakouer who had 0 effective kicks? And Macaffer?And Elliott who badly needs a rest btw, has done nothing the last 4 weeks

Mate your missing the point, I'm saying Sidey needs a kick up the arse, and to not take for granted his spot in the team.
He's played 100 games, but still needs work on parts of his game, especially his disposal. They have him running off half back, but he chops the ball and turns it over and we get caught on the counter attack. There's a lot of players that have average form at the moment, and you can't drop 5 to 6 players in one week. Sidey l rate as a player, but he's not playing to the ability he has and needs to be given a wakeup call.

I agree Cloke's kicking has again dropped away badly, like to see him play CHF, with Reid in the goal square.
Would the club look at Gumbleton next year?

I think what the club does with its forward line is a fairly big issue but before you can go putting someone else in there you have to work out how we can get best value out of Cloke. The man is an absolute beast in a contested marking situation and not too shabby on the ground either but when he's returning so little on the scoreboard for his efforts you'd have to wonder if he wouldn't be far more value much higher up the ground. The problem then becomes how you're going to compete in the air at full forward and so a genuine forward would have to be a consideration. I'm not sure the coaching staff agree but I think it has to be getting to the point where they have to give Clokey a different role and roll the dice on Reid or someone else in the key forward position.

P.S. The problem with Cloke at CHF unless extremely high is that anywhere near 50m and he will shoot even though so many of us are begging him under our breath to pass!

I actually think Cloke is a much better shot at goal from long range. When he's having a shot from 40-50, there's less pressure on him to kick a goal then there is from 20-30, and he misses way to many from the 20-30 range.

EVERYBODY IN THE ENTIRE ENGLISH SPEAKING WORLD actually thinks Cloke is a much better shot at goal from long range. When he's having a shot from 40-50, there's less pressure on him to kick a goal then there is from 20-30, and he misses way to many from the 20-30 range.

fixed

In: Grundy, Kennedy, Martin, Harry O, Brown,
Out: Hudson, Sidebottom, Krakouer, Mooney, Macaffer

Play Reid up forward with Brown and Keefe down back.
With Witts and Grundy to ruck.

76 DE% and 2 clangers seems completely fine to me. No chance of being dropped.

Would persist with Witts for this week considering he had about the same impact as Huddo yesterday, along with 5 tackles. The Caff looked a bit lost for mine and if hes not finding the goals or shutting out an opponent then what is he doing in the side? No knock on Elliott, i just think the kid needs a break. He looks lethargic at times and seems to be struggling.

I also thought Keeffe and Sack really struggled with the pace of the game. Happy to keep them in for the time being.

I'd like our forward setup to look like:

HF: Sidebottom, Cloke, Mooney
FF: Krak, Reid, Grundy

Cloke is at his best when he works over his opponent physically by getting around the ground and making repeat leads, not when the pill is being dropped on his head with every forward entry. With Sidebottom.. i dont know what the general theory is among AFL clubs, where talented half forwards must be tried as full time midfielders, but its total BS. Sidebottom should not move from our front third and we should be playing him the same way as Port do with Monfries and Gray.

Anyone on here who says play cloke as second ruck or just give him a run in the ruck needs their head read. Have you ever seen him go up in the ruck? Ever? There is a reason for this. Our best forward and one of the best forwards going around doesn't get thrown in the Ruck. If he came up against Brogan at the centre bounce this week his ribs would be broken. Brogan would put his knee into cloke so hard it would be Ridiculous. This is why some people are not coaches. This is why I hate losing games.

For me..

Out;
Macaffer - I'm not sure the supporters or the Caff himself effectively know what his role is atm.
Witts - Has shown glimpses but realistically not ready to hold down a full time position in the seniors.
Elliot - Has been up and down for the past month or so. May need a rest or possibly a small reminder of where he is at.

In;
Grundy - Time to see what the big fella can do.
Martin - Too good for VFL, can really cement his spot in the team for a finals campaign.
Blair - How much did we miss this bloke against GC. All heart and extremely important to our endeavour..

Possible outs;
Mooney - Needs to be given some time to show if he can perform at the next level.
Krak - One bad game does not constitute poor form.
Hudson - Great spirit, but unfortunately not our long term solution. Still an important element for 2013 though.

Edit#
Forgot Browny.. Needs to be in the side. If we are to play Reid forward at stages, we will need to keep Keefe in the team and displace another tall.

To be honest I don't have an answer to this conundrum..

Possible in's;
Harry - obvious, is obvious.
Paine - Not much time left to flirt with our structure come finals.
Jolly - Not sure where we stand on Jolly now.
Kennedy - Has all the assets, just needs to put in some solid contributions on a consistent basis.
Lynch - Does form warrant this?
Didak - A match winner. If we are serious about a Premiership in 2013 he needs to be part of our plans!

I just want Macaffer out and I'll be happy. Was worst on ground yesterday. Mackenzie tore us a new arseh*le while he had no impact going forward. Just far too slow for the elite level and if he isn't tagging, then he's clearly not good enough.

Reid has to play forward. Grundy to play that 3rd forward/2nd ruck role. Keeffe stays back and CAN WE FINALLY GIVE MOONEY A CRACK FOR A FULL GAME PLEASE!?!

In: Grundy, Brown, Blair, Harry O
Out: Macaffer, Witts, Maxy (won't happen), Krak
