Can't wait for this game. We've had our fallout year last year so you'd think (hope) we'd be able to improve on that.

It will be good to see where Brisbane are at as well particularly because I have tipped them for quite a high spot in the eight.

P.S Apologies to West Coast supporters for my tip I am just being sadly realistic.

It's a realistic tip BB, if the game was played at Subi I would be confident of us winning. Not sure either side will win too many games away from home this year.

Great previews.

Hopefully will be a strongly contested match, with Voss wanting to make a mark early and Worsfold wanting to prove we are on the rebound with a good start to the season.

Looking forward to it, though for me the big concern (for both) is disposal.

Best of luck Lions fans.

Nup, we got Carlton the following Saturday. Split round I say;)

Arrh, my first Melbourne trip for the year....... footy is well and truely back:thumbsu:

Good write up guys. Footy's back, you beauty.

Anybody from Melbourne catch the footy show, not on untill 11.30 here.
Any smokies picked for the first game?

I'm no expert on HK but you may want to contact the HK Dragons footy club for contacts. I see they start training soon as well!

Lion Power - welcome to Singapore! Best way to check out the footy times is here. Bars that I know show the games at the Bungy Bar at Clarke Quay and most likley at Brewerkz. Give them a call but just remember it can get expensive going out in Singapore!

Thanks MSB, I have just gone and had a look at the Bungy Bar and they wil be showing the game on Saturday Night.

The only thing I saw of West Coast this pre-season (naturally) was the game against the Pies in which they were, quite frankly, terrible. There were some excuses for them that day though. Collingwood were far closer to full strength and, as it turned out, one of the form teams of pre-season. Of the guns that did play for West Coast, they nursed them through the game. I made a few comments after that game about a couple of the young blokes from the Eagles:

Swift looked to have plenty of time, read the play well and his disposal was above par as far as Eagles players went. Could definitely see him playing on a wing this year. Masten also looked quite good (although I see West Coast as having more inside mids than outside which, on Subi, may mean a squeeze on for inside mid roles). I also thought that Adam Cockie looked OK too - might be a quick rookie promotion.

And by the sounds of it, coming from Browny earlier this morning on SEN, Leuy to be the main ruck & Charman to be the back up.

I like that idea.

Everything points towards Charmo being a good "impact" player. He is highly physical, is happy to bash bodies and is able to float forward to take a big grab. By rights, he ought to be quite suited to the Crackers role of "less is more" (grand finals as the lone ruckman excepted, of course!). But it doesn't seem to work out that way - he does seem to work into games rather than burst into action. Like to see that change.

Question 13 could get answered sooner than I thought.

Looks like both the Seniors and Magoos are likely to win this week!

Charmo and Henderson are the shocks. Clark the obvious choice to back up in the ruck.
