Boys I'm hoping for a good game today. Been impressed with you guys the last 2 weeks. This is our best team for a month, we've had kids or understudies playing in some of our most structurally important positions recently and today (assuming everyone plays to the same level they left at) this is a pretty good Dogs team.

Good luck.

On paper we clearly boast a better midfield but that doesn't always translate to what happens on the field.

I think dogs midfield on paper looks weak, but as we've seen and as statistics show that they are a clearance and contested midfield and the way they play makes them a top 4 mid team in the Comp. we don't have a player like Libba who is the best clearance player in the competition and one of the best tacklers and we lack their speed.

Bulldogs transition from defence to attack so well because their midfield have exceptional speed and disposal by hand.

In saying this, I believe that the game will be won in our forward. WE MUST lock down the run by the Bulldogs, if they can flow easily out of their backline then their mids will run us off our feet.

As if we care that they got players back. I want to see where we really are at with them playing close to a full side and then we can judge if we have turned the corner. We find out nothing if they are missing 6 of their top 22.

I was really confident we would beat the Cats last week and that's due to Geelong not being a really quick side ( I know they have Dangerfield who is lightening). We get exposed by quick ball movement and just sides that are fast so our pressure will need to be on like the first quarter last week and it has to be maintained for longer.

The fact that the Dogs don't play much at the G is in our favor but that's not a massive factor IMO. I am worried that they can really cut us up with their pace and you can also argue that the MCG even suits them the way they play. If we are not switched on this game will be uglier than it would be if we played at Etihad.

I think and I hope something has clicked within the playing group and we will be up for it today. Pies by 8 points.

Consider this ...

Even if we lose today and next week ...

... As rubbish as that would leave the first half of this season ...

... It would still be better than the second half of either of the last two seasons

Yeah, alright, don't consider it

Well, we've started the last 2 seasons 8-3. We're 4-5 right now. If we can hit 6-5, hopefully we can have a decent second half of the year and come home strong.

Is Jesse White playing?

If he's is out are we likely to see Marsh come in and Howe to the forwardline?

Need to control the clearances which will result in slowing them down, obviously need to take our chances in front of goal like we have the past 2 weeks.

Win or lose I don't care as long as we play a competitive exciting style of footy.

I know what you mean, BEEG, but I really want the win too. Last week showed what they are capable of - now we need to see if they are capable of doing it consistently.

Personally i cant see that happening. Howe is our best backline player at the moment. We would be robbing ourselves taking him out of there.

We would be much better off bringing in Cloke and copping a fine the club could easily afford if White didn't get up.

Love us to maintain our recent run of outstanding first quarters, and setting up the win from there. I think the Cats last week were a little complacent, a little bit arrogant, and we drove a truck through that attitude in the first quarter. The Dogs will not be the same.
What is our track record in this late Sunday afternoon time slot (the death zone)? I cant recall being at one of these games where we actually won.
Never mind the record - it's all about winning streaks. Maybe today is the start of another one, VP. :)
