Was at a function last night and Yagmoor spoke, said he will be playing VFL this weekend - but was relieved to have a better game after round 1 and hopes to improve over the year and is looking forward to hsi future at the pies.

Jeez, the papers are going out of their way to gee the Cats up for this game. Lots of articles about their desire and their need to step up.

This is going to be one tough game and let's hope our boys are equally as fired up!

This is why I think they'll beat us tomorrow night.

MM named 5-6 Geelong senior players. I just think he wanted to fire them up because we're playing against them this week.

The difference between us and Geelong is the ability to flick a switch.

I dont' think we have that right now.

By that, I mean, I am almost 100% certain Geelong will bring their A game on Friday. I can' tbe certain we'll do that.

What I AM personally sure of, is that our A game trumps theirs.

I agree with this. If Swan plays the way he did against the bombers we are in deep shit. If Hawkins can play out of his arse we could be right. There is a lot swinging on who turns up to play

Great to see caff and kraks running laps... anyone know how far krakour is from being back? Really hope his only 5-6 weeks away now if his running well. which would be fantastic having him back for the last 1/3 of the season as his a very handy player

The cats are dreamin if they think kelly could run with swan haha noo just noo cats.
There midfield seems slow without travis darko.
Duckwood will be getting plenty of frees:thumbsdown:.
Daisy will come out red hot, like blazing hot, im talking like bursting through packs, and he;ll be kamikaze like, just you watch.

I'm all for barracking and understand that bagging the opposition is one of the ingrained traits of our great game, but really, "travis darko"? That, coupled with your earlier comments wishing Scarlett and Selwood to be stretchered off, just shows a complete lack of class.

On topic, as has been stated, the Cats aren't playing well and given the proud character of the playing group, I'd be super surprised if they don't give a much improved performance this Friday night. Having said that, I don't think that alone can get them over the line - I hope I'm wrong though!

I've tipped Geelong.

When you guys last copped a media pasting, you won the flag.

Also, you rarely lose 2 in a row. Remember, our form hasn't been crash hot. We've just been lucky to play 3 average/poor sides, and a down on form Essendon (on the day).

I still expect Geelong to win this one relatively comfortably.

So because we beat Essendon that means they played crap and has nothing do with how we played. Yeh okay

I'm so sick of this excuse when teams lose.

Pretty stupid comment that not needed but then again the Bay has been over run by silly little Cats supporters which people of late just seem to let it pass

Anyway Geelong will win this game if they hurt us on the rebound out of defence like so many teams have this year they just have the class to really make us pay in this department

Hope it is a dry game to be honest will be won in the Midfield and for once we might have the advantage in the ruck if Jolly plays and Ling being retired will help Pendles and Swan alot

Dawes is a huge key as Lonergan always does a great job on Cloke

Down on form?? WTF? That game was one of the best standards of footy this year. Think you're underestimating how well we played and had we kicked straight we would have won by 6 - 7 goals against a very solid bombers outfit.

Nah, maybe I'm just expecting the ride to end but given our form this year, I can't see a few media pastings lifting us to a win. Granted, it's worked before and they don't often drop two but pies are in form (you have still managed 4 wins in a row) and I'm sure last year's GF will spur on a little. It certainly worked for the cats in our last encounters with Hawthorn.
Only two things make me hopeful of a Geelong win. If Hawkins and Podsy fire, I think Brown out will really hurt you down back and secondly, and this is more wishful than anything else, the Cats have a good recent record of lifting for milestone games and its Kel's 200th. Still, Pies by 16 points for mine.

Great preview again Matty - thanks. Any idea when Dave's preview is due out? I cant get enough of these comprehensive previews especially for blcokbusters like tomorrow nights game.

Yep, thanks again Matty.

Very excited to get back to the G against the cats.

k......

FFS, how many games have Essendon lost this year?

The 'two games in a row' thing is rubbish, Geelong won their first 13 games last year and then lost the next two. Just before the 2010 finals series people were saying 'they've won 8 of their last 9 finals', etc, but then they went and lost two in three weeks, one an absolute pasting. They have played one good game this year, and that was against a team that we beat by 10 goals.

As for 'we've only beaten shit teams', you can only beat who you play. So many people complained that we didn't beat Richmond well enough, and look what's happened since, they nearly beat Geelong at Skilled, should have beaten West Coast and then smashed Sydney, who had won 5 out of 6. Yet when we played them 41 points up at 3 qtr time wasn't good enough.

I am fairly confident going into this week.

Where did you get this??
Good ins if true

Nice changes. Definitely makes the team stronger for what should be a pretty competitive game.

Pies by 10 goals. Cats are currently cooked, might not be the case in 10 weeks but for now 10 goals, JUst in case this occurs, will the media push the nuke button just like they did after the carlton debarcle. probally not be it would be awesome to see them turn on them.
