Geez, I just asked a question mate.

Regardless of his age and battles with injuries over the last year or so Lids is a very important part of the Richmond Football Club and is still a required contracted player so if you guys are to bring Deledio in I think it's fair to expect Richmond will want something good in return.

Unless Geelong/Richmond look to bring in a third party a deal will be very hard to strike because without you guys having a first round pick this year and acknowledging a regular first team player won't be traded you've got to understand Cockatoo would be the only player who hasn't being a proper regular yet at Geelong that is comparable to the standard of Brett Deledio.
You're off your head mate.

Have Richmond even decided what their plan is? Are they trying to build for a flag? Rebuilding? Aiming for the bottom half of the 8 to keep their fans happy?! It's hard to predict what's in their interest because no one knows what on earth they are doing. I Ignore Hardwick's words because his comments went from one side to the other depending on which fortnight it was during the year. All... over... the shop.
That's why they've brought Balme in. To fix all that up.

Tigers board talking of a rift between players - senior players and younger players not seeing eye to eye.

On the back of Lids repeating a month ago he wanted to be a one club player ( clearly they never saw PFD in 2015 AT ALL)

I guess there could be something going on down there - no shock considering their FO etc and board spills etc.

Does not sound harmonic but could add to Lids desire to leave.

well we rather keep him anyway :D
According to AFL.com.au he doesn't feel the same.

DELEDIO APPROACHED THE CATS

As recently as September 15 Richmond veteran Brett Deledio was describing reports he could join Geelong as media "noise".

He acknowledge clubs were inquiring about him but said his manager was "just knocking it all on the head".

But on Tuesday morning Geelong's list manager Stephen Wells revealed it was Deledio who approached the Cats through his management late in the season.

Carlton's Zach Tuohy also got on the front foot and made it known to Geelong he had an interest in joining the club.

"Both those players, we received an approach through their manager late in the season for us to consider those boys coming to join us at Geelong," Wells said on SEN.

"Of course with players of the quality of those two we have an interest.

"We’d love them to come and play at Geelong."

nothing wrong with considering his options.

but there is no way we are going to let our best player of the last 10 years go for nothing.

I'm guessing we will somehow get a mid 20's pick from gold coast and trade that to richmond for deledio and get something like 40 back that way it looks better for richmond

probably throw in vardy/murdoch/ghs with it

Sorry to drop by guys, but with Pickett leaving GWS, would they have any interest in Motlop?

How would you guys feel about a trade consisting of something like this?

GWS: Motlop and 36
Geelong: Deledio and 26
Richmond: 15 and Stewart

I'd take Lids and pick 26 in a heartbeat.

Can't see that happening though, why would GWS want Motlop anyway?

Losing Pickett, most likely WHE and Stevie J next season. Will be in the market for a fwd/mid.

And you have a deal :)

Club will be trying to work out a way to get both lids and Tuohy but it's going to be very hard especially if Motlop stays.

Seems like Lids and Tuohy both contacted Geelong so obviously we are going to be interested, it hasn't happened the other way around where we've gone to them and asked.

They want to come here, the club will work hard to get it done, if not, we'll just hit the draft and hope Wells finds some gems.

Geelong have just taken the boat out for a joyride and the fish are jumping in. Incredible.

Pure_Ownage, Geelong can trade next years first rounder and take the risk that they could somehow bring in a first rounder via trade next year and use it... Then also use their 2018 first round pick.
