Very interesting. Based on this, my reading is...

Facts:
  • Gillian has spoken to Clarko
  • Clarko wants to coach next year
Supposition:
  • Gillian would be happy if Clarko coached North next year
  • Gillian supports the idea of Clarko going to North
Tasi was also mentioned. I just wonder why AFL might want to have any involvement in this at all?

Why would the AFL want to have any involvement in the success of one of its assets when so much rides on TV rights and advertising?

I've decided Clarko is coming. (to North)

No ITK or whatever, just feel it's all the right timing.

It really is a perfect set-up, and if AFL chip in some $$$ and a priority draft pick then it's happy days.

We aren't nearly as bad as our results have suggested, that is due to other issues I will not bother explaining as they are now gone.

Although I like the idea of Clarkson as coach, I don't like the connection of Clarkson and Brayshaw to Tasmania.

Clarko - pro Tassie.
Brayshaw pro Tassie.

I don't want the Kangas to be their vehicle.

Sonja ruled it out in an interview the other day. Everything else feels clickbait.

I keep hearing the Clarko wants Tassie noise but it doesn't make sense. He's a family man who lives in Victoria, where his family are all well entrenched. I'm pro Tassie, I'm just not pro North being the Tassie team.

Plus he wants to coach next year. No way Tassie is ready by then.

I think our main competition are the Bombers if they part ways with Rutten.

We aren’t going to Tassie.

If we get Clarko we’ll fill our pockets with more sponsors, memberships and gate takings from him just signing let alone when we start winning.. who knows in a few years time we might end up one of the most financial clubs in Vic..

AFL wants a tasi club.....they don't want a 19th team....they are actively providing inducements for a Victorian relocation.

You're right, I don't think we are moving, but I get suss if the AFL are snooping around our coaches and management.

Well, he was made an ambassador or something. While I'm sure that wont impact his personal career decision, it certainly will mean that he supports tassie. And honestly, I'd love them to have a team as well - jut not at any another single teams expense.

I have inner scrotum leak of the Clarkson interview with GWS, here is the transcript...

GWS: Hi Clarko, sit down and here is a nice cup of coffee.
Clarkson: I'm a bit worried about the salary cap, can you show my the contracts for Greene, Whitfield, Coniglio, Kelly, Taranto, Hopper and that Hindenburg fella.
GWS: Suuure, they all seem to be above board.

Geez, Gerard is such a weasel. "Plant Clarko at North"

I think there's a few in the media that know something and are absolutely filthy.

I think the obvious way to make us better without giving us priority picks is to give us an expanded soft cap which can include a more expensive coach and some good assistants. I mean, we could do it ourselves and just cop the 50% tax, but we likely wouldn't.
