Would be sensational if the announcement was in the hours prior to Sonja appearing on Footy Classified.
That would give caro, fat head, the other fat head, cornholio and the velvet blow up hammer (or whoever ends up on the show) too much time to work their negative spin.

Announce on the show Sonja.

Caro: so who coaches north as obviously Clarko won’t be…
Sonja: yeah so we’ve signed Clarko, eat shit you lisp having shit

You know it makes sense

Here’s me putting two and two together to make 69.

In the week or two prior to the Collingwood game we had strong mail from Clarko’s camp that he wanted to coach North but needed to Noble out of the picture before it could happen.

Noble then sacked after one of our best games of the season.

Decks have been cleared, an in principle agreement has been reached and negotiations are now happening to iron out all the details.

Would be sensational if the announcement was in the hours prior to Sonja appearing on Footy Classified.
Or if she held a presser immediately afterwards to make the announcement after not saying a word on FC.

It would almost have to happen prior to FC appearance, or Sonja would have a hard time explaining why we haven't even started our "process" yet ;)

Exactly right. But if we were not confident of landing Clarko, then we would have put the panel together long ago, and would have had a list of perspective coaches lined up, and would have already interviewed some of them. The fact that none of this is happening tells you all you need to know.
Correct - the timeline I believe happened was North wanted to see if Clarkson was interested PRIOR to the Geelong game. As it turns out his manager has confirmed he made contact with North AFTER the Geelong game. The only reason Noble wasn’t sacked then was because North wanted to know if Clarkson was interested in the job. I believe the yes answer didnt come until the day before the Collingwood game so by then Noble was a dead man walking and then was sacked the next week. North have played this well by not putting out details of the panel and keeping discussions in house. Given the football director , president and at least 2 past players have been talking to Clarkson that indeed does tell you all you need to know. Again as I’ve stated today was a date mentioned but it could be anytime up to Friday. I’m not sure we will get much today. But I’m happy to be wrong.

Presser will be in time for evening TV news.
Typically all our pressers are 11 or 12 o'clock which would suggest today is probably not the day. But it can't be far away now

A new coach presser would not be in the normal presser schedule.

It would deserve it's own fanfare.

I'd prefer we announced it minutes before the show was to air and then have Sonja pull out of the show.
Even better - we make the announcement just before the FC interview and Sonja sits down, puts her feet up on the desk, lights a massive cigar and blows smoke rings while laughing maniacally whenever someone asks a question.

THAT would make FC actually worth watching.

Interesting that the day before the Collingwood game was the day Tom Browne reported that Noble was gone barring a shock win the next day...

Yes, it is interesting that even weeks ago before Noble was sacked when Clarkson's future was being discussed Sam Edmund was alwasys saying North was a distinct possibility for him, whereas others like Dwayne Russell completely ruled us out. He clearly got wind of us being interested quite some time ago.

My theory is that the current delay is either due to contractual issues being ironed out, or simply us trying to put sufficient space between Noble's sacking and Clarko announcement, not to make it appear like we've been in talks way before it became official that Noble is gone. I am pretty sure that those discussions were taking place though, and now we are just trying to find the right balance between a slightly bad look and delaying it too much that it may leak into the media.
Need to go F1 style, Vettel announced retirement, a few days later Alonso announced at Aston Martin for 2023.

What number did Clarkson wear when he played for us?
23

How many years since our last premiership?

What is the square root of the year Queen Amalasuntha received a delegation urging that her son Athalaric be taught in the Roman tradition to "ride, fence, and to be toughened, not to be turned into a bookworm"?

Yes but not hang around the reunion I'd suggest.
Had the pleasure of chatting to Robert Scott at a season launch a few years back, lovely bloke, a lot of former players there that night from both the 96 and 99 Premiership teams, he didn't seem to have any issues socialising with them.
