Excalibur, Taz and Ricky Starks is an amazing commentary team by the way.
Taz and Starks cheering while Miro beat the sh*t out of Fuego and Sammy was hilarious.

Best combo IMO, really would love them on Dynamite over JR and Schiavone.

rumour has it that Bray Wyatt is supposed to be joining the promotion in the next couple of weeks at Rochester. I can’t say that I’m overly excited about this Rumoured signing, he is a big merch seller though. Hopefully he gets rid of the supernatural crap if he does join.

I thought Rampage was fairly forgettable and lame.

Punk match was pretty good and same with the Men of the Year match. Everything else was complete garbage to me.

The lights out concept doesn't really make sense if you continue to have entrance music, commentators etc.

Mox has completely gone off the deep end and lost touch with what made him an interesting wrestler.

Good to see others agreeing that the heel/face combo was more enjoyable. I still don't think Excalibur is very good with emotion, his call for the Men of the year invasion and reveal was pretty lacklustre, he didn't seem surprised or anything.

No idea why they had to do two one hour segments, very strange.

I imagine this has to be a Fite limitation based on the Rampage series typically being a one hour eps or something silly. It was very weird.

Had the main event and opening match wrong way around.

For Rampage? CM Punk's match wasn't going to be on at 11:40pm EST. Rampage seems to be to have been very clearly set up based on the theory that the ratings would drop big time come hour two, as they did during the Dynamites that got aired at 10pm on Friday, and so hour two was more of a "for the crowd" set-up, hence Elite, Punk and Jericho being hour 1 and the New York people in Ortiz & Santana, Kingston and the Homicide cameo being hour 2.

He rated a Flair/Steamboat match and a match in Japan 6 stars back in the 80s/90s so I fail to see how he backed himself into a corner when he had done it before.

He's also said numerous times that he believes the standard of wrestling has gone up big time in the past 10 years and that wrestling has become a lot more accessible which is why he's been dishing out a lot more 5 star ratings compared to the days of old.

Most of Bryan's highest rated matches happened between 2006 and 2011 when Meltzer only gave out one 5 star match across the world, the Dragon Gate match in ROH which changed the US indie scene, so it probably partly became a case of "well I didn't give the KENTA match 5 stars, so this match against Nigel 5 stars probably can't be 5 stars either. And this other Nigel match, I don't like the ringpost spots" etc etc. Then Tanahashi came along and loosened things up. (KENTA has zero 5* matches too which is maybe even more nuts than Danielson)

It is weird that Cole, a heel, has two of the biggest, most-beloved crowd-popping moments in wrestling as part of his entrance.

Won't be heel long I feel. Could use his popularity for dissention in the group and have him eventually help Page beat Omega. Then maybe off to the races with a huge feud with Omega.

Looking forward to this. The crowd should be up for it.

Did Arn Anderson have falling off the apron in the game plan when discussing with Cody?

Watched it 5 times, just rolls around the floor for what feels a lifetime after falling.

Brilliant.

He needs to go IMO. That was embarassing and I really feel as though he doesn't offer enough anymore.

Same with Suzuki. I had no knowledge of him before All Out, so he's just a slow, small old guy who doesn't look a legit threat to people like Mox and Kingston. I'm aware he is considered a legend, but AEW are riding this wave of momentum right now, picking up new eyeballs along the way. Casual fans who could be turned into regular fans won't be convinced by Suzuki.

Way to many old guys getting a pay cheque.

Product has been really good getting rid of the junk and bringing in some serious talent, I hope next they piss off the old managers.

Tony has enough money if he wants to fan boy invite them all to a dinner, I doubt any would refuse.

That's one of the greatest botches ever, they moved the camera away and came back to him still rolling around.

I think it's great that Khan has put some of the classic NWA wrestlers involved in the company to keep some of the gymnast wrestlers in check. I'm not saying they necessarily have to be on TV though.

However managers have been underutilised in WWE for ages, they can be really great when you've got a good enough talker. Men of the Year definately have the best manager right now and are just being used perfectly.

You've gotta go back a couple of years and remember that guys like Arn, Jake and Tully were brought in as the 20-year wrestling bridge on TNT.

They're unnecessary now - especially after Arn's botch last week - but they did serve a purpose. And Tully has been a lot of fun.

I remember his sister Cutie Suzuki.

And with Cody hopefully now heel, Arn on the outside could actually add to the act now. But yeah wasn't good last week was definitely not supposed to fall off how he did last week is hopefully ok from the fall.
