No one on our list is putting pressure on for an increased contract via their performances. Not a single one of our players will be sought after by another club so no pressure on us to match offers. We didn't fork out 4 year deals for Greenwood or Keath.

We have so little... but we surely do have FUTURE SALARY CAP SPACE

You know how other clubs in the past have looked at our talented youngsters and driven a dump truck full of money up to their house and ripped them away from us, tearing our heart and soul out in the process and relegating us to a decade of irrelevance?

Well now it's our turn.

Who is the 19-21 year old midfielder out there we can build our midfield around? Who we can make a Million Dollar Plus Man well before his output warrants such dosh? Who no club in their right mind would match because it's crazy irresponsible money? That we'd be confident of getting in the PSD if the trade isn't to our advantage because we're the only ones stupid/desperate enough to be paying that amount? Out of contract in either 2020 or 2021?

Great call, especially given how low we will finish and how that pre-season draft option is possible.

Tim Tarranto? - might force GWS hand on some other targets though. Could net Isaac Cumming?

The Lions have a stack of up and coming players. Target the right one and they won't be able to match. Maybe McCluggage? Raynor? Berry?

For some reason , every year we appear to be close to the cap when other clubs eg WC,Richmond and even PAP seen to be under.. Do we pay overs to very average players?

Off the top of my head I've got nothing re a mid to steal, but I'll have a think about it. But I reckon as soon as Doedee approaches being available, a Vic club or two will be confident of ripping him off us. He's the only foreseeable target though. Our list is below average mundane.

I like this idea a lot - he's not high in the pecking order at GWS, hopefully we can lure him a deal with incentive targets, if he hits them it's a huge win for us without a massive risk.

But if the young guys prove to be top quality (tbc) then I doubt we will have a war chest on top
