Lions have never really travelled well but they had ascendency at home.
That has left them this year too so they are gonna struggle to make the 8 if they can’t beat teams like the Hawks, sts, away.

I've was just thinking that gee, Hawthorn seem to be getting a lot of favourable matchups during their rebuild at home, so I had a look.
The only interstate game they've played that isn't at least a neutral opponent has been against GC at Carrera and Port in Adelaide. They've had the Pies in Adelaide, Geelong, Essendon, the Dees and the Swans at the G, the Saints in Tassie, and the Roos and the Dogs at Marvel; now, Brisbane at Marvel. If we got a like run when we were bottom 4 we'd have looked a hell of a lot better.
Imagine if they'd copped Geelong at GMHBA, Sydney in Sydney, Nth in Tassie, Collingwood in Melbourne or Brisbane up there? This is about as friendly a draw as a bottom 6 team could get, and honestly it doesn't get all that much harder from here; Geelong at GMHBA, Eagles over there, and the Giants at Manuka. Everything else is either at the University of Tassie or at the G.
