Chris Scott is by far the best coach in the AFL.

Full stop.

You sure Dan Houston doesn’t want to rethink about coming to us?

This is - arguably - worse than that shellacking they copped in the GF in 2007. Least in that game, they were an old warhorse well past their prime up against a team that would go on to win 3 in six years; tonight, they're at home against a team perceived as one of the weakest top 4 sides ever, and they've dropped their heads far, far worse.

I still dont know how Port finished 2nd either, I can’t believe it.

A hugely overlooked part of scheduling is when you get teams.

Their wins against good terms often came when they were at their weakest (us hurting end on a 6 day break, Hawks before they got healthy, Swans during their injury period when they had less motivation to do well, etc.).

We copped a lot of teams at the wrong time this year

Mannagh last year was overlooked by all clubs in the MSD then he goes in the 20s to the Cats as a 26 year old, i thought they were crazy, well they weren’t, he looks right at home in the AFL and he would have been great for us too

Everyone looks great playing for the Cats. Some of our fringe blokes would be champions playing for them. They know how to get the best out of decent to average footballers.

Home ground advantage.

It's fashionable to go on about how Victorian (MCG tenant) teams have an advantage on GF day against an interstate opponent, but what gets ignored a fair bit is how much easier it is for interstate clubs to make it to the top 4 and the double chance.

People forget that in the first decade of the millenium, the interstate sides had the top 4 mostly on lock courtesy of home ground advantage. Geelong - being the only Vic side that has a definitive home ground - makes top 4 for more or less the same reason. They win games the shouldn't and reduce the margin in games they lose due entirely to HGA.
