don't get me wrong, i hate the pies as much as the next person... i took morbid delight watching malthouse, didak and co in tears after that GF loss.... but given that west coast lost their champion to an agenda by the laughably incompetent WA police, and hysteria stirred up by vic-based media personalities, the fact is cousins will find a new home in 2009.

collingwood have long been envious of west coast, as evidenced by their poaching of our (at the time) elite head coach and the recycling of numerous players. yet they have never been able to match our success.

but, if it does eventuate, the reunion of malthouse and cousins will take this underachieving team to another level. perhaps even enough to to win them a GF.

perhaps the pies undying pursuit to emulate the mighty west coast will finally pay off?

Trying to emulate the eagles sucess??? LOL your as good as your last season buddy and as i remember...we knocked you out of the finals...i actually got on a plane and went to that pathectic excuse of a ground you call subiaco...WHAT A HOLE!

Say Cousins played the year for the baby Pies (hatchlings???) in the VFL, and played well, and we would obviously be an interested party for him to rejoin the AFL, couldn't Cousins put a price tag on his head, and nominate for the PSD, and we could get him that way?

If he listed on the VFL list, we would get a priority to get him in the PSD at the end of the season. The key is to get him on the VFL list.

You mean you would tank to get a priority pick?

Or you think that the Pies somehow have priority to players from their VFL team?

I think there is a rule that gives an AFL side access to their vfl players if they want to draft them come seasons end. I didnt mean tank or anything like that.

I am pretty sure with any team, if a side wants to add a vfl player thats affiliated with their club they get special access to that player.

Since when? I've never heard that rule before.

That means Freo should have a free pick each year from their affiliated clubs of East/Sth Freo, Claremont, Perth and Peel. We'll have Franklin, Masten, Wells and Gumbleton back thanks.

It was Licuria, not Didak,

But once again another supporter of a non traditional team realising the sentimental value of Collingwood:thumbsu:
A non traditional team of what? if your talking about the same league as the one your team plays for then we have the same amount of tradition but alot more success. Unless your talking about that broken down excuse for a league the VFL then yeah its all yours.:)

If he wants to go to Collingwood and Collingwood is all he wants to go to, and Collingwood is satisfied he has conquered his demons and Collingwood wants to take him, Collingwood is where he shall go. :thumbsu:

Every other precedent shows this when a player wants to go to only one team, somehow or another he always gets there, so Collingwood and Cousins they could make it happen.

A clean Ben Cousins in black and white is a very exciting thought, I reckon Cousins has more impact on a game than Judd does, Cousins is a brilliant player who is everywhere, next year he would still be in the top handful of midfielders in the league.

Worked out well when the Pies took that attitude with Stevens didn't it?

Pull your finger out of your......!!!!!!

This cracks me up. A rediculous opening post, then the attacks come in from all angles. A lacklustre attempt at gaining back some dignity - unsuccessful.

But he is right, everyone is so envious of West Coast, especially the Pies because Mick left and Morrison:confused:

It seems to me this Eagles fan needs to take some notes from Ben and lay off the crack.

Ah the old " I'm making this up as i go along rule "

As I understand it, Cousins asked Judd who had the best training facilities in Melbourne.
Judd who had, had a good look around told him to go to Collingwood and ask if he could train with their VFL side.
He met with Malthouse, who gave him his blessing

No promises from either party

We have existed for over 100 years.

Your club has the integrity of a McDonald's franchise.

You dont think that if he is seen as reformed, has a great year in the VFL as he should ( lets face it, he is top 3 in AFL, let alone a sub standard VFL) that a bottom side wont take the opportunity to grab him in any draft he puts himself in. He still has a good 3 years after this year, and he is not a gamble in terms of talent.

If we are anywhere near the 8, we wont even get a chance to get him.
Do a carlton?

Who is telling you this?

You seem to know a lot about it, any idea if ben is clean yet?

True. Even Harvey said similar recently.

Feels good as a supporter to know the team you support is held in such regard. :thumbsu:

Im pretty sure you're club would've traded the picks to those players for some has-been and recycled player anyway.

As for the OP, I'd just like to say thank you, your approval means a lot to me. Now I can rest easier if Cousins is at Collingwood next year.

Yeah the same organisation that has been in existance over 100 years:thumbsu:

the same one you joined because we LET you:thumbsu:

your clubs history (a pathetic, underperforming one at that) prior to 1990 has as much worth as that of my mighty wafl club west perth...

the same organisation that we have outperformed throughout the history of the AFL.
