Atmosphere at the 'G

When both sides ran out onto the ground it was hard to split the difference.

The roar though when the siren went was bigger than anything Football Park has produced.

um, where I was it wasnt actually that great

back of the N54 (level 2)

but I just assume the noise from level 1 didnt get that high to where I was and the noise from the top tier just went over me, so where I was, was probably the worst place in the stadium for atmosphere, but eh. Was great when ever something happened and the people around me were cheering, and it was also a great veiw.

I agree, the Adelaide fans there (must have been over 15,000) added to the atmosphere of the night.

One end of the ground seemed to be almost all Adelaide, and the other end almost all Collingwood.

If it wasn't for the AFL and MCC members section, you guys would have had us for numbers almost.

Great atmosphere, pity a few Collingwood supporters stayed home and watched it on TV, could have been 80,000 + there like the 02 prelim.

The atmosphere was sensational. I was two rows from the front in the top deck of the AFL members and the Adelaide support looked enormous from there (15,000 seemed about right). Good noise from both sets of fans.

For the 2nd half we moved to M3 behind our cheer squad and it was still great. Sat next to a decent Collingwood bloke in both areas. Don't mind them actually - unlike the black and whites in the home state these fans are not attracted by the glory, and stick with their club even when its going badly. Never had any grief off them either.

I was at the Punt Road end, in N2, so behind the goals to where Anthony kicked the winning goal.

I have never been surrounded by such a terrific, passionate and LOUD group of supporters in all my life. Our end of the ground was virtually all Adelaide fans; it was amazing and just a very special thing to be a part of. If we had won it would've been the greatest night of my life. We were so loud, so, so loud, we did all we could to get the boys up. Every time we kicked a goal we all went nuts, and when Tippett kicked that one we were going off. I saw a few people who looked like they were close to being sick though. :p It was almost too nervous to enjoy, if only we had won. :(

Seats brilliant, atmosphere amazing, Crows fans amazing, loved being down the end where the majority of the Crows fans were.

The MCG is the best sporting ground in the world, I don't think you could get a bad seat and the atmosphere is amazing. That was only 62k, imagine a PF! I haven't been to one in Melbourne, or a GF, but I'd imagine the atmosphere at a PF would be the pinnacle of crowd support because it's filled by people who actually want to be there and have a team participating, unlike the GF.

Atmosphere was awesome and the number of Crows supporters there....amazing......

We had more Crows supporters go there than Port Power get to AAMI stadium.

I was in N12 in the Great Southern Stand (you'd hate to be claustophobic in that stand). The enclosed feel of level N of the Great Southern Stand (very similar to the undercover concourse at AAMI) seemed to intensify the noise.

Having said that I don't think I'd sit there again as the level P seating obscured the view of the 2 big videoscreens and the TV in our area was quite snowy.

The atmosphere last night was electric, one of the best I've experienced. Lots of Crows support, which was fantastic.

If possible go ext week to Collingwood V Geelong - atmosphere will be electric as both teams' supporters will be confident. Was great in 07. IMO better than Grand Final as too many tickets are taken by neutral observers, corporates and people who go cos they know someone, not by actual passionate supporters.

It was insane. I was sitting next to a bay of Pies' supporters that made it even more intense.

I was no prouder when I could hear the Adelaide chant loudly carry around the Olympic and Southern stands, that end was going off. It was just a magnificent sea of blue, red and yellow.

I don't think I've ever cheered so hard or so loud that I couldn't in the end as my voice had given way.

Brilliant atmosphere last night. Definitely the best I have been to for an AFL game :thumbsu:

Never cheered so hard especially when Tippett goaled and Otten marked only to realise the free kick had been paid.

Also got a free Crows flag which was put in the bin lol

Agreed. :thumbsu:

If I was in Melbourne this week I'd go for sure, was planning on going next week if we got up which would've been special. Preliminary Finals are so intense, win and you've got into the game where the premier is decided, so much at stake!

When the Adelaide chant when up for the final time in the dying stages, I couldn't even talk because A. my voice was gone and B. I was too nervous to do anything other than clap. When Otten took that mark I was the happiest man alive, for about a second. :(

I'd personally like to thank ever AFC supporter there last night you were all bloody awesome:thumbsu:

HUGE thanks to the AFC supporters in M2 and getting fired up with me:thumbsu:

Cheers

I was sitting in bay M4 in the great sourthern stand and the crows supporters around there all fired up. We made a hell lot of a noise after we started leading in the last quarter. I remember when Tippet kicked that goal to put us in the lead 1 more time, we were all jumping and giving hi five to each other but this glory was soon to be ended.

I was next door to you in N1 (row A) and I have to agree with you it really was such an amazing experience to be a part of it. I can't say I have ever heard anything so loud at any crows game! Have to say I pretty much have no voice left today! With the effort all of us put in we deserved to see a victory but I guess it just wasn't meant to be :(

The only disappointing thing for me was in the third qtr noticing our cheer squad not doing anything to fire up the crowd during the Collingwood goal avalanche. Surely a bit of noise from them isn't out of the question or maybe I'm just expecting too much :D

Anyway well done to all Crows supporters who went to the game :thumbsu:

The whole atmosphere has made the game stick in my head... :(

That goal by Tippett had me jumping up and down like an idiot. Ottens mark got the same reaction, which slowly turned to "WHAT THE F***!!!" Watching the replay soon had me feeling embarrassed as it was actually there

The whole chant of "Bullsh**!" was pretty fun though.

Were you the bloke starting the chants about half way down? If so, terrific job!! I was in row Y, wearing my sleeveless crows jumper and jeans, it was so hot I had to take my shirt from underneath off. The atmosphere was brilliant!!

Congratulations to the feral collingwood 'female' who drove my mate and his mrs out of the ground because of threats. She had to leave via police escort because this collingwood lady said she would get her after the game. Great stuff Collingwood!

If anyone noticed, it was me and SA_Stazza who were running up and down the aisle at 3/4 time trying to pump up the crows fans.

I was at the ponsford end. Atmosphere was incredible. We could hear the crows chants from the other end of the ground. We had decent support scattered around where I was too. I got on tv twice! Once we were booing wood and the other time the ball bounced straight to my mate

A faint Adelaide chant started around on the wing but didn't hold up. Would've been awesome if that went around the ground at three quarter time.

I was on the same row as you. I'm not gunna tell who I was though because I'd rather not publicly embarrass myself

I'm more worried about publicly embarrassing myself :D I was going nuts for pretty much the whole match!! But then again who around us wasn't :thumbsu::cool:

Your expecting too much from the Crows Fundraising Squad.

Were there reports of any fights? Extremely volatile situation straight after the game.

There were plenty of words said at the punt road end, but nothing physical.
