Australia v India Women’s series

Pitch is doing a bit, low and slow bounce. Pace simply isn't working for us at all; bowlers missing their lines and bowling half volleys on a pitch that's staying low.

Lot of our wickets came from playing over the ball. Pacers need to be stump to stump on this sort of a deck, movement be damned; make them play across the line without being certain of the bounce and there's wickets aplenty.

Plenty of current elite women cricketers are calling for more Test matches in a series rather than the current single one. I for one would love to see a 2/3 match series. But first our cricket bosses have to provide our girls with domestic red ball so that when they do play a Test they can bat with compactness and cope with a moving ball, generally look more disciplined and confident.

They seem to have improved dramatically since I last saw them play.

It was only a matter of time until the Indian womens team became as strong as their mens team with all of the BCCI's money and resources.

If Gardner is gonna bowl so many overs then pick an extra batter over a spin bowler.

Ash is bowling all these overs because she has had to carry the other spinners who have been ordinary. We may need all three tho for what should be better conditions if we have to save the game.

Lead is over 100 now, so we have blown all the good work done by Gardner.

Bloody hell how much of her 39 overs were from today? Missed all of todays play, just tuning in now, but I don't recall her bowling much yesterday?

EDIT: Just said it on the comms, 38 overs today

India could paint themselves into a draw if they aren't careful here.

Yes Australia's first innings was dogshit, but there were some dumb wickets at the beginning of our batting. If India don't declare early tomorrow, the Aussies come into the second innings and keep their top order in tact, they could easily put together just enough to keep the game a draw.

We certainly aren't winning this but a draw could still be on the cards.

There's still 2 full days to go.

I imagine that India's plan would be to bat as long as possible and hope to only bat once. Get 200 ahead and still give themselves 5 sessions to run over us - which is pretty likely on this pitch.

Not seen much movement from the many cracks they showed at the pitch report. I think Pez got one, so did Midge. Seems most of those balls that mucked up were when we were batting. I put that down to the greater discipline by the Indian bowlers.
Their quicks bowled a vastly superior length to us early. We've let their bats get set before choosing to bowl well.

But to be honest, our issue has more to do with the batters all finding ways to go out. McGrath's dismissal was - frankly - a bit lazy, Mooney got into a terrible position to a ball she could've ducked or gotten inside of, and Healy's bowled for all that it kept very low the ball should not be going under a sweep if you've got your eye on it.

Not a single score above McGrath's 50 is what hurts. More than enough got starts.
