2 spinners and only 2 quicks when its expected to rain on 4 days would certainly be an interesting call by selectors, feels more like they had made their mind up on that lineup as soon as we won the series and they arent going to let things like weather or the actual pitch get in the way of it.

I hope agar takes a bunch of wickets

Been too busy playing white ball to be able to prove himself with the red tbh, actually think his style of bowling lends itself well to test cricket, just hasn't played it
He should do well on pitches that really rag. Otherwise lacks penetration.

Renshaw has had plenty of time to average slightly less? Handscomb has had a better year. They’re much of a muchness on stats. Handscomb seems to have a more spin friendly technique. Renshaw could be good in the long run though.
Probably why he is being picked. Renshaw at 26 is still relatively young and you might as well back him in now than look at bloke in his 30's

He’s okay for an over or two lol

Least I’m happy with the batsmen lol

If this is true The more I think about this decision the more it pisses me off.

Reckon it undermines the shield comp IMO...really is Renshaw in the six bats in the country atm based on form?...the answer is no it should of been Handscomb to bat six not Renners. Renshaw has scored 2 shield tons in the last two seasons and only scored one ton batting down the order last year average in the 20s....and he is getting picked to bat six for Australia  ...sorry its crap and the selectors are playing favourites..he has been kissed on the dick big time

What's the point of having middle order players who can also bowl score runs...f**k all if you are just going to pick an opener bat six. Why not having another allrounder play that gives you the options with your bowling lineup? F**k you hardie selectors couldn't give a toss about your shield hundred ...f**k you handscomb regardless how many runs you make selectors don't give a f**K

I could understand it more if Renners opened and Usman batted six that would make more sense but to have a opener picked in the side to bat six when he has a crap record in the middle order is just stupid

Also whats the point of having Harris in the squad as the reserve batter if you are not going to play him ??..I thought the role of the spare batter was to replace a batter in the top six....nah F**K that in the selectors eyes harris is just a water boy. I would be seriously pissed if I was him

Oh well rant over ..good luck to you Renners I like you as our future opener just no for a number six

Sigh

Age should not matter...hussey voges usman ...all 30 plus scored runs not because of there bloody age...it should be about RUNS

and if age is the reason pick a wyllie or Chandarishge instead

They both have a similar FC record and hence go the one thats 5 years younger. Rather see Renshaw in and around the test squad before Uzzi/Warner hang up their gloves soon.

doubts have arisen about the word “person”.

Folks are advised to use “peroffspring”.
These sort of suggestions have pretty much been debunked as only coming from a combination of a very small vocal minority and a group of online trolls encouraging them.

Surely no one is upset if Harris isnt picked?! Bloke simply isnt good enough. Agar should be nowhere near the side either but unsure really of other options atm. Neither will really feature beyond this and if Agar is in india he'll get shown up by every other spinner that plays

Renshaw in the team now as he will open when Warner is gone id assume.

You'll probably be waiting a very long time. The only way Agar takes wickets is bought ones. Bowl trash and have guys on the boundary. How ever if he is actually going to take his own bag it will be against South Africa.

I think picking Renshaw makes some sense...Warner was probably in line to be replaced and then pulled out a double hundred so really can't be just yet. Regardless, he likely doesn't have all that long left and Renshaw appears to be the replacement opener they have in mind. Can't hurt therefore to give him some more test experience against a quality attack in a dead rubber.

Agar, on the other hand, is quite confusing. I know we don't have another all rounder like Green and that we'll need a 2nd spinner for India but not only does Agar average 45 with the ball in tests, his first class average is 40+ too. India are the best players of spin in the world and bringing a trash one will hurt the team. South African batsman are so bad he may do okay (as they'll probably target him) which ma only serve to justify a poor selection prior to touring India.

Sure, but Handscomb has been putting up good numbers recently, and recent form needs to count also. Personally, for India I’d have them both in potentially, happy that Renshaw is getting a run today
