Ok just seen this and I’ve now gone full rage. Blatant corruption and ineptitude on show right here in a game decided by a point. I’m absolutely furious. What is galling is that it’s teams like ours that have to deal with weak umpires shitting themselves every time there’s a 50/50 decision to make. THAT is the reason why Collingwood keep winning these close ones. Their moronic Collingwood army absolutely influence these maggots repeatedly in their favour. Happened in the finals last year against each of Demons, GWS and Lions.

Lots I could say about this game but it’s really already been said. I will say though that’s it nice not seeing the rock bottom thread on the first page - long may it never resurface!

While we didn’t quite get up today, the last two weeks does feel like a turning point and it’s a nice feeling to actually feel optimistic before the start of a game now.

Was at the game, just finished the replay.

After all the poor umpiring and our own roll over, we were still in it with 40 secs to go, when not one but two pies players overstep a clear, paid mark by 10m, 75m from goal.

Defies belief. There's simply no excuse not to pay 50 and no possible explanation the AFL can give to tick it off.

But we know they will.

I think the AFL will admit that as an error as there is no way of avoiding it or explaining it away. But it doesn't matter as there is no consequence to a mistake like that. nor the missed goal review, nor the Daicos ducks, the Quanor push on Zurhaar, the Daicos throw, the Sitebottom throw, the Qhanor massive throw etc. No consequence. No change to anything. The result stands. All bets are paid.

Now, if there was the possibility of a genuine stewards enquiry with let's say, a $10 million dollar penalty imposed on the AFL for serious inconsistencies in the standard of umpiring decisions or obvious clangers then we might expect that instead of offering words of encouragement into the ears of the on-field officials, the AFL would send messages to the field umpires to immediately recall their incorrect decisions and apply the correct free or penalty whatever the case might be. It has to be serious money at stake - big organisations don't care about six figure penalties. They laugh at them. But 8 figures will ensure action and somebody will be (rightfully) sacked if it's imposed.

Yeah pretty much everyone other than pies supporters (a couple of exceptions) can’t believe it wasn’t paid. It’s pretty unanimous.

A few weeks ago they were reviewing shots that went directly above the goal umpire's head. There were accusations leveled that they were hunting to play those crypto ads at every opportunity. The AFL say EVERY goal is reviewed. Bartel mentioned it on whatever show he is on tonight that they don't. I have no insight into the capability of Laura Kane so I will not comment on her, but the person who specifically chose to not hold up the game to review that goal (or the people if more than one were involved) must be dealt with - severely.

This game is funded heavily by the gambling industry. A lot of money is bet on outcomes and on other aspects within matches. Incompetence cannot be tolerated. If they say that every goal is reviewed then they are either lying or somebody chose to defy that condition. Somebody has to be accountable for that.
