A mothers day massacare from the Panther!! Mummy didnt love you enough and Mothers day brings it all back??? A lot of anger there & too many incorrect facts to be taken seriously.
Carey were on fire on Saturday have not witnessed a team kick that many from the boundary or take one handers as on Saturday - how have they lost a game?? SKOB need to bounce back big time this week against an in form Oakleigh, but thanks for the wake up call coach.
As for Liberatore you would have to ask him why he never played - we would love to have him but as no one from his year level ever played at the old boys after u19s i am sure that made his decision to wander 2 mins down the street to have a kick a bit easier. as good as Liber is he wouldnt have stopped the panthers train on Saturday.

Hard fought and close win by our lads on Saturday against a side who kick-started their season with a massive last quarter effort (wind-assisted) against Carey the previous week. It was nice to clock up our first away win for the season against a group with plenty of A Grade Amateur and beyond experience. Keeping the fingers crossed against St Kevins this week. Obviously Old Carey have improved heaps since we played them in R1 and on that result wouldn't be surprised to see them win their next three games. A side with the talent of St Kevins aren't going to be down for long and although we have only beaten teams near the bottom this year, its amazing to think that our lads have a chance against the team that many posters were bench-marking as Premiership favourites earlier in the year.

Anyway, most of you chaps have been posting in B Section for longer than me, if you have any info on the Kevins boys, just drop it on the private message or make it public. It would be great if our boys can make a game of it.

Oak, I like your style, not scared to be out there. I'll help you, no Olive, Fraser, Dollman, Rombotis, Brady, Garlick, J Mahoney, Gross or Nettlefold this week. Should make it a good close game.

Sense a good case of taking the p1ss there Brian!

Still an unknown year as to who are the clear finals contenders, i think top two will probably stay the way it is, but 3rd & 4th will be up for grabs with as many as 5 teams in contention.

Nick, less emotion. More facts. Your fabrication off all things is well known, I switched off when you stated last year that Luke Ball was signed from a St. Kilda board member.

If all clubs are great places to be, why do you go from 1 to another? All preseason, SKOB were talked up with this glamour midfield. They are ST Ruggling.

A club with the resources such as SKOB shouldn't be stuck in B Grade. Something amiss there, seeing OM & OT's 1st hand this year has seen how much of a gulf there is between A & B Grade. As I said, more facts Nick.

Extraordinary statement:

Collegians 5/0
De La 4/1
Xavs 3/2
Uni 3/2
Trinity 3/2
OMs 2/3

Scotch 1/4
Brighton 1/4
Marcelin 0/5

OMs have Brighton, Marcelin and Trinity to come in the next three rounds too.

Blacks 11 goals up at BJR at 3/4 time..great effort.

Coach Robbins decides to switch Guy Martin into the midfield..result?

Rovers kick 10 in the last quarter.

Good move to keep in mind for the future, as the boy can play!

The "other' Robbins for Blacks can seriously play as well.

disappointing effort by the rovers on saturday. credit to the blacks who are a hard running outfit, but rovers skill errors hurt. the boys lifted in the final ¼ giving the scoreboard some respectability, helped by a couple of positional moves that came off and the blacks feeling the effects of exceptionally hard running for ¾ . was more impressed with o.i but i believe the blacks had a few out injured. they’ll be thereabouts when the whips are cracking.

Typical SKOB. Promise the world, deliver little. Club has the advantage of being one of the best APS Football schools, talented juniors, etc. Club is full of cliques, has been poorly run since the early 00's. Will be in B Grade for years.

At the risk of this becoming the most quoted line in B section BF history here goes...

Panther you are a good example of why you should never wrestle with a pig - you both get dirty and the pig enjoys it.....

They won a flag in 97' & from a period b/w 00 & 05, they produced an AFL Premiership member every year, the only APS School to. Enjoy following Hawthorn this year you battler.:thumbsu:

I openly commend you on such a brilliant fact regarding the premierships (2000, don't think so) but your head is screwed otherwise. Firstly from those late nineties teams the cream never made it to SKOB (re: Briza). Secondly onto your football factory at Moonga Rd; since 2000 there has only been three AFL rookie listed players come out of the school, not one in the main draft since Luke Williams. Obviously this will change this year with Wallis and Libba who I could lay odds on would suit up for the dogs and not skob idf they were not getting drafted.

And as for well resourced, well if you were happy going to the cage it could only give an insight to the sloth you might live in.

Incorrect.

Josh Mahoney was taken in the 2003 AFL Main Draft, understand he went to Collingwood & then Williamstown via St. Kevin's. A key member of Port's GF in 04.

Actually I think you will find he was the lucky last pick in the 2003 Pre-Season Draft.

I am still trying to work out the correlation between SKOB's poor performance on Saturday and who has been drafted from the school since 1952? If they were drafted they are too good for B section ammo's and if they werent drafted they should be playing B section ammo's....

They took the wrong Mahoney in my view.

Don't know Tuts, obviously drafting is a good indication of the strength of a school, who are essentially the main feeder to the club. It's fair to say that St. Kevin's have been a strong football school since the mid 90's (in addition to those who have been drafted), probably one of the strongest.

The comment was on SKOB's status in B Grade, which won't change this year. Not good enough to hit A Grade for some time. I think Fraser Cameron summed it pretty well on SKOB this year, lets hope he gets the gig off Fitzgerald next year.

Arrggg. You got me Nick. Keep a lid on it though. The masses will come down hard on me with this 'outing'. You must have seen me eating that pie down at Bulleen on Saturday. Great win. Keep up the great sleuth work.

I got a pm from Sausage Roll the other day asking if I was monkeyboy? And now BrianSpeaking thinks you are him, just a few days later? Hmm seems like monkeyboy made a lasting impression.

The SKOB team is a mostly young side building for the future, I would think they absolutely have the quality to play deep into the finals this year. They are unfortunate but fortunate to have 10 of their players playing VFL seniors and reserves this year, not including any AFL rookies like Cachia who have never been affiliated with the club.
There is also the problem where the heartland of the College boys live, which is the Essendon area, over 11% just in that region, which means it's too far to come for a lot of them when they finish school.

PS Oakleigh Old Boys, Gary Brice is out this week with a fat guts!

The school enjoyed a successful period during the mid 90's thanks to the likes of O'Keffe, Penny, Williams, Scotts, Powells ect. But the majority of the current team and club finished in the 2000's a period in which the school wasn't very successful at all, infact under coach powell the 1st XVIII never won more than 3 out of 10 games for a season. To say they were one of the strongest schools is a joke they were closer to one of the worst.

Who said Big Footy wasn't educational!?

I knew there was the odd cross-over between Bernies and SKOB with the Mounts, Ryans, etc. and quite a few St Kevins lads playing at Bernies, but had no idea of the number of College kids coming from the immediate region surrounding St Bernards.

Must be my ignorant Anglican upbringing. ;)

Dont have a definitive answer for you Panther - I suppose we lose the best 6players each year from the school to higher levels and being a smaller school we cant cover this - look at our under 19s this year, they won the APS last year but are mid-table.
We might have to agree to disagree on a few things Panther and hopefully you are wrong about the status for this year. I know the boys are looking forward to getting back out there this week against the Krushers. A week is a long time in football...
