Skob - to get over the line in match of the round, with handy inclusions of simpson and Williams. Marchessani very unlucky coming back from a knee only to do his good knee and out for the season

OC - If Dolly and Freemantle play will be very hard to beat

OH - unkucky against skobs last week and will bounce back

UB- pretty much got a bye this round

HR-Will be a very hard fought game but should just get up

Tips for the round
OI by 31 points
Oak by 10 points
OEG to bounce back by 35 points
Bernards by 45 points
Blacks by 145 points (mabye mhsob can be relegated to the 2's and Uni Blacks 2's can be the 10th Premier B side)

lock of the week is OEG (some value there for the punters)...

ps: how many marchesani's are there at skob ? stiff to do a 2nd knee, and the opposite one, in such a short time frame.

wow, the HR kid ended up getting 4 games last night which is a surprise from LF report and the sponsor I caught up with.

May had to do with the elbow or they are cracking down on that type of stuff. seems on the high scale. Does anyone have any info?

Maybe they added the additional 2 weeks after they realised they had accidently only given 6 for a king hit.

I think you'll find it unlikely that Hampton will get much sympathy from any other teams or the VAFA for that matter for the rest of this season.

We don't expect any sympathy nor does anyone condone what has happened. I think you'll find the player will miss more than the penalty handed down as part of a club imposed ban as we take a stand against these incidents.

3 Marcas have turned out for SKOB this season. Hopefully with a 4th to come.

Man of the round. Slippery conditions to favour the small running players at St Kevs. SKOB by 15 points
Carey with plenty back to beat OEG and extend their barren run. (45 points)
Bloods over Bernards (2 points) ... nothing in it so Ill go for home ground advantage. Ex SKOB Laz to kick the winner
Oak to extend a good run over Rovers (10 points)
Blacks by an even 100 over the worst side in b grade for at least 5 years.

Cardio, I think you might have a good idea there. Why can't the VAFA have a Most Disciplined Club award for each section of the VAFA; not just at Under 19 level?

It isn't a surprise to me CC, it would have been a standard 2 week suspension, however he has been suspended in the 19's for a similar incident, we fully accept the penalty as UM and others have said it isn't condoned and the club HAS made moves to erradicate such issues for the remainder of the season. I think it is best we move on and speak footy.

That stance seems to be working quite well...

Thinly veiled swipe, TG. There was no measure put in place after the Rd.1 incident. Your player messed with the bull and got the horns. Simple as that. It's been repeatedly said, we don't condone any of what's happened, but we're satisfied that our player retaliated in the Rd.1 game and that the VAFA dealt with it accordingly. History and the character of the individual suggests it's not something he has or will ever make a habit out of. The same can't be said of the more recent incident and the club has acted accordingly.

I think CC's chart speaks pretty clearly about your club

Of course Michael you would be satisfied with rnd 1 behaviour, the force of the so called retalliation seemed to be quite appropriate under your guidelines. No doubt the lad would not repeat the act again however can the oeg player simply just move on.

Similar incident in A Grade, King Hit off the ball, but I believe caught on camera, and the player got 8 weeks.

Last night, the lad from HR past record caught up with him. I think he may have served time last year as well.

KB I love how you guys keep taking the moral highground. It was not that long ago that you guys thought an appropriate punishment for a coach hitting a spectator was 2-3 weeks. Yet 6 weeks for a player hitting another player who was potentially provoked is a soft punishment. No condoning the king hit at all by the way

It appears if you are provoked you have licence to do anything.firstly the ball was 100 metres away, secondly the oeg player was looking towards the ball and was hit from behind and thirdly there was many witnesses to say he was not provoked. The 64 dollar question is did the penalty equate to potential consequences that could have occurred.

KB again I am in no way condoning the hit on your player. My point is that you guys have double standards. You guys wanted 2-3 weeks for Edwards hitting a spectator but seem unhappy with 6 weeks for the HR kid.

Here we go again. Seriously KB, it's time to move on.

im not sure Oakleigh are the real deal in terms of being a finals contender, they beat Carey who I just cant work out, Bernies beat them relatively comfortable in the end, and they smashed MHS who are just very very bad. B grade is very close though this year, more than other years.

as always, happy to be proven wrong.

OI to inflict Skobs first loss
Carey in a canter
OH..have lost two games inside a goal-should be undefeated.
Blacks by panels
Oakleigh to keep surprising everybody

My goodness, Sausage, what is wrong with you? OH should be undefeated??? How does that work? They were behind t the 15 minute mark of the last q vs SKOB and stayed there, and they were behind for a great deal of time vs Blacks. When the siren goes that is the end of it, so they are where they are.

memo: local footy and uncle mick

don’t get sucked in. go back and have a look at the way the serial pest has for some time abused and maligned the club both at a personal level and club level. this is just another attempt to drag down the clubs name.

so if you feel inclined to read his diatribe, have a laugh, realise it’s a light day for him at the sheltered workshop and let it go through to the keeper. by responding to his inanity, lies and half truths you are giving oxygen to a person who gets his jollies from maligning the club.

as the saying goes ‘never wrestle with a pig. you both get dirty and the pig enjoys it’

the one plus is that the major posters on the other forums must be delighted the serial pest is concentrating on this forum so they can indulge in useful informed footy chitchat.

p.s kudos to ‘cubzy’ who is awake to what the motivation is and no longer takes the bait. and ‘scribe’, i know you’re busy but you’re a shining light here. more from you please.

enjoy the footy at the weekend everyone and let's hope there's some turn-ups.;)
