As everyone knows we've lost 2 key talls (Cooper & Clifton) however in my opinion we were too tall last year anyway. We've picked up one small forward and two midfielders (which we desperately needed!). There is also a couple of very handy un19's coming through, I'd say we'll have at least 6 players 20 or under in our seniors this year.

I think our side is fairly similar to 2007 / 2008 side in balance, however after being a mile off the pace last season a few wins would be great! Praccy game this weekend will give a better idea.

Where has clifton gone? He is a big loss.

Was told last week by an OI player that they'd lost a lot of players.

They've picked up a couple though including 1 guy who was signed, sealed & delivered last year but walked out chasing $$ 2 days before Round 1.

Get on the OC's in '10! it's going to be a Dolly good year.

Going to 'live the dream' in the UK for 12 months or so... but the smart money has him home by round 1.

As the goats said we've had a couple of guys leave but so has everyone. Numbers at training have been the best I've seen in some years and the core group of senior players (which were really quite young) are another year older and have tasted A Section football so I'd expect a fairly strong showing this year.

SKOB cannot be seen as favorites, that is ridiculous, OEG and Blacks must be seen as favorites.

Why bob?

SKOB have by far and away the best midfield, an emerging first ruckman, good KPPs, quality U19s graduating, and have always had great depth.

Throw in an adept and talented coach who will be more settled after his first year back at SKOB, and a better home ground to run around on.....time to open my betting account.

I'm struggling to see where things could go wrong. :p

whilst I agree with you that Skob will be hard to beat this year and clearly have a talented on ball, I would love to know who the emerging first ruckman is? and who are the graduating U19's?
cheers

SKOBS have always had a great onball, undeniably better this year, but where are their KPP and where will the goals come from? I am reasonably sure they will make finals, fitness pending, but wouldn't have them favourites. The Doggies with Byrne, and OEG with Hakim and Skurrie(not to mention Baddeley in the ruck), also have very good midfields, and pose more threat for the flag IMO

Do not forget OEG also has seven players returning from injury, that hardly played at all last year.If Clifton and Geistner play and they will oeg should improve a great deal.
My top four at this stage.
Skobs
OEG
Oh
Old Carey.

I consider Plugga to be an emerging force in the ruck for 2010. Though to be honest, he's been pretty useful for SKOB ever since he lost his training wheels back in 2005.

as for the U19s, I admit I may've been laying on some mayonnaise there without any true knowledge of who is coming through. Whispers of other former guns returning to SKOB (no names, no pack drill but we should can for the Clearances in due course) have me loading up on SKOB to take the whole thing out in 2010.

OEG v oakleigh - what a contrast

the ever hyped but never deliver chockers who crumbled in A section after their web site trumpeted their arrival in the big time (following another Finals disaster) agaisnt the team that has built from within and is making their way through the ranks very nicely.

Regardless of the result in the practice game - I assure you that oakleigh will be in a better position that OEG in the long run

One on the way up - the other heading in the only direction that suits them ......

Anyone care to explain the reason for the dislike of Old Essendon?

Let me guess - never played them before have you Local ?

let me know how you rate them after a trip out the Essendon, or at your ground, or at a neutral venue like elsternwick - doesn't matter, you'll work it out
