The team that sits 4th should be 3-0 so not sure I agree. I still think it will be a top 5 and bottom 5. OH have no depth so lets wait another 6 weeks lads.

Hey Briza, fair day at he office for the bloods yesterday, smashing Caulfield by 121 points!

Duncan kellaway played for the fields as well.

Hailybury that good or caulfield that bad?

Taking another tumble down the picks ladder. Maybe the rot will stop when some of the more fancied teams start playing each other.

Was at HQ yesterday, thought it would be fairly close given that I'd seen both Caulfield and Haileybury a few times late last year. Oh dear, how things change. Caulfield just did not have any answers, and came perilously close to not scoring a goal by half time.

Were Caulfield that bad? Yes. Were Haileybury that good? Yes. And it should ring alarm bells around the other teams that they did not let up the pressure for the entire game. Most other sides would have well and truly lifted off during the second half.

The bernie defence was very impressive on the weekend with that ex afl gun...danny roach reportedly playing his best game since being at the club! And what about this forward line, if potter and pearson weren't a handful in itself, along comes forward pocket tall Chris mitchell who seems to be trying to shake the tag he so richly deserved the last few years..."CLANG"

Saw half a game at Toorak park, and the other half at SKOBS. The wind ruined the contest at the SKOBBERY, however i would be very suprised if either St.Kevs or Carey finished above 7th this year. Both looked very light on for talent in B-Grade. Frightening result @ EP yesterday. Brown and Voss were awesome. How many VFL listed kids do they have?? Ran them off there legs and generally just beat up on them. The gulf between OH, StB, OEG and the fourth best side is massive. Most clubs will just need to avoid finishing 9th or 10th and be happy with that.

What a stupid post Monkey, I expect better from you. How many players were OC and SKOB missing? I would say 18 between them at least. It was damn windy and I would also say SKOB were superb in the last q holding OC goalless in to a 6 goal gale that was its strongest all arvo.
As far as OH go, they have no depth, mark my words, they will not go back to A Section.
If you are really a OX person, which I seriously doubt, you would be more worried about your OX boys. Have a nice day D

Care to expand on that reference Briza?

I think I know where you are going with that one.

you put it well.

OEG - still with some big outs. Teal, Goullet, Leask. and condos yet to be in blistering form. it looks good for the bombers. i think COOPER has made the biggest impact so far. good to see him in form. hope he continues.

STB - they seem to be dominating. at this stage they look far better than the bombers. although it might be because OEG are still bonding. at this stage STB are likely to win the derby.

I'm sick off hearing about players still to come in to OEG. All clubs have injuries and unavailabilities. STB, I'm sure have a few out. OH still have Mason, Siapantas and Chisholm to return (3 A Grade premiership players - one being an All Australian) .....and wait....there's more......but you'll have to stay tuned!!!
As for no depth - they won the A Grade flag when the twos won the wooden spoon.
STB and OH are a Grade above the rest of the comp.
OH to beat OEG by 57 points next week....they will be fresh and are coming off a bye.

As everyone seems to be getting carried away with the top 3, can anyone from OEG give the Sharks any credit from the weekend. The margin was only 14 points during the last quarter, 3 late goals when it finally rained probably made the game look easier for the Bombers than it was. I think you'll find the Sharks still have big McNicholas to come back in as well as Lee and Henry (last years B&F), so you cannot say the boys were at full strength.
I think Beauy can finish in the four and the team will start a nice winning run this weekend against OM's. Remember the Sharks have played OH and OEG, two of the 3 so-called B+ sides-all away and done reasonable looking at other results. As well as beat OC-the AFL's 17th side.
P.s. - Cardio, stay on the Wagon this weekend against OM's - Sharks will be looking the goods! Be interesting to see if its a 2 seat wagon or if others tip beauy too.

I'm a first time poster Brian, so I expect you to shoot me down with some of your razor sharp wit but I am wondering if you could help me get my head around your depth argument.

OH by all accounts are not yet at full strength, but will fall by the wayside the moment they cop a hamstring strain or two.

SKOB are simply waiting for the return from injury of several stars before taking a stranglehold on the competition.

Your assertion is that the depth at OH when, not if, it is tested will be far inferior to the depth at SKOB, which has already been tested and found to be less than convincing.

A simple comparison of the respective results against Caulfield would imply that the SKOB bandwagon, once you get it righted, will need to run the OH team bus into a tree if the current gulf between the two is to be closed.

I wonder, Brian, if perhaps it is you that lacks depth.

Another nufty, welcome check. Nothing to do with SKOB at all, there are 10 teams in the Section. Simply saying that OH have shite ressies, shite under 19s in Zebra section and if they get major injuries, they will be shite. If, as you insist, you want to compare depth with St Kevs, well you will find their ressies are reigning premiers, are undefeated, that their Under 19s are in Premier Section and have beaten St Bernards and Old Xavs in consecutive weeks, their Club 18 have won 2 in a row and that 22 fit lads missed out on a game last weekend, as well as 15 injured or unavailable senior players.
After 3 rounds OH have won 2 and lost one, with one of those sides being Beauy, tipped to struggle this year. Sundays game was a smashing, a sensational result no doubt, but Im tipping OEG and St Bernards(a team OH lost too) to go up to A section next year.
Now those are the facts Juanker.

Thanks for clearing that up for me BS.

Excellent work with "Juanker". That is pure gold. You exceeded my lofty expectations.

I must have missed the bulletin on the VAFA website where the Dr McLelland Trophy system has been adopted to determine promotions and relegations.

P.s I am yet to see OEG so will accept your well informed judgement and obviously OH do not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as StB after the flogging they copped from the Snowdogs.

Whilst the Shark's effort on the weekend was reasonable and full credit for remaining with the bombers until midway through the last qtr, I would definately not be getting too carried away with their form, and certainly wouldn't be predicting them to finish top four. OEG were ontop all day but just couldn't seem to pull away.

I think Beauy are simply too small (height and muscle) to be anywhere near a top four side this year.

And whoever takes your training really needs to take #3 aside for some kicking practice! Why would you have a bloke who can't kick a drop punt kicking in???

Check Juan - I think its pretty obvious that if Brown, Voss, Trollope, Brewer and co are fit all year OH will be up there with the top2.
No team can cover injuries to their best 5 players especially when yours are probably the best in B grade.

Didn't see the game but I reckon credit where credit is due to the boys from Shark Park. They were written off all pre-season only to go down to the former A graders OH @ Badlands in round 1, they defeated the highly fancied OC @ Gordon Ramsay Reserve and then took it to OEG @ Keilor Hill.

So far you'd have to say they look to be going OK and should finish higher than expected. What will hurt is playing 18 games on the road.

Just putting it out there BS....
StB's played SKOBS in the last pracky of the year (with probably both sides minus a lot of players)....
Both seniors and ressies won by about 10 goals...
Their ressies were pretty woeful actually. And on the other hand OH ressies have improved from their obvious poor performances of the past 4 years. If the Foo was to make his long awaited comeback then i reckon they could scrape in the top 4...

Long live the Foo

If Bernard's won both games by 10 goals i'll go he. Firstly, it was a practice match and two - Bernard's would've prob just kicked 11 - 12 in the ressies for the match. I think skob kicked more than two numbnuts.

You can however take those 10 goal victories when you come up against them during the year

Shouldnt be too hard to work out who Monkey boy is Brian. There was only 35 people at the wind swept rat cage on Sat.
One was you, another was the bloke in the coffee van, another was doing the scoreboard, 32 to go.....

Tutto, will big Matty Primus make his long awaited debut for SKOB this week or will he be kept in mothballs again?

fair chance that the bernies will smash skevvies when their time comes! one's and 2's! And im tipping big buckets loewe can be another name you may like to add to the all star line up of OH! I reckon he is not far from pulling on the boots!
