Jason Steven apparently is still reading his own mantra from last season! Kangaroo Flat will be an extremely competitive in season 2016 because of a new scoreboard and clubrooms! Funny I though footy was played on an oval by 22 individuals."MY COACHING STAFF has not stopped since last season! Big announcement pending! What are all the other teams in Victoria doing Jason?

Understand this comment as its been a common theme but not sure what else you expect him to say
He has to stay positive and think you have miss quoted him a little on clubrooms and scoreboard
Understand but a bit harsh

Agree Crow needs to stay positive. Whats the talk in terms of players in and out Crow? Have many departed? I heard some might have been a few going with Maddern to Mitiamo. I heard there has been some recruiting going on but didn't hear any names. Dragons expected to make an appointment later this week is the tip hopefully we've landed a good one.

“My coaching staff has not stopped since the season finished, and we are confident that along with a new social rooms, and a new electronic scoreboard, we will field an extremely competitive side in 2016."

I really hope "new social rooms" and "new electronic scoreboard" are code for players?

Hey Cosmo, good facilities can be very helpful when recruiting as most "quality" players will often come and look at the ground, facilities etc before meeting clubs. But also need a competitive side, good culture and have the right coaches on board..

Strath Storm is proud to welcome Trent Donnan to the club for season 2016 and beyond. Trent joins us from Woomelang-Lascelle Cats who have been a successful team in recent years in the now defunct Mallee Football League. At just 22 years old Trent boasts a football resume any player would be proud of..he is a 2 time league B&F winner in the Mallee Football League as well as a 2 time club B&F winner, a interleague rep and best on ground medallist in that game but most importantly a premiership player with the Cats in 2013, Trent also played some fantastic footy with the Bendigo Gold (VFL) in 2014 and Bendigo Pioneers (TAC Cup) in 2011. Trent or "truck" as he is affectionately known as to a few of the boys lives locally here in Bendigo and will play through the midfield for the Storm with his strong body, fierce attack and smart ball use highlights of his game. On behalf of the Strath Storm FNC and the Strathfieldsaye community welcome aboard Trent and good luck in season 2016! #GOSTORM!

The above was taken from strath Facebook page.. Great get with a great resume had the pleasure of following the club he played for the last few years.. He had 10 bog's this year at woomelang

I think jugga needs to put himself on a media ban for 2016 and let his do the talking for him

Battled when I seen him play for the Gold a couple of times but is a bit of older now and Bendigo not a patch on VFL standard so will watch with interest too see how he goes. Any other confirmed ins and outs at the Storm?

Jeff Geischen has been appointed coach at Gisborne

Sent from my D5833 using Tapatalk

So Geis hasn't had a senior job in 14 years, there is a bit that has changed in that time. Interesting to see Lynch named captain surely as the coach you would pick your NEW captain? Maybe it was the only way to stop him from leaving too?

Massive news. To have someone like that coach your club can only progress your club..

Here's an interview by Paul Daffey from earlier this year.

Jeff Gieschen! What are you doing here!

Well, I’ve adopted Gisborne as my closest-to-Melbourne country team.

Why do you have a country team?
I just love country footy. My first loves in country footy are Maffra and Wodonga, but they’re three hours away and it’d be impossible to get to either of them regularly. Gisborne’s only 50 minutes away.

What’s your connection?
A few years ago I had a strong interest in coaching here but at the last minute I decided not to do it because of work and travel commitments and so on. But from then on I made a commitment to help the club and support it when I can. I’ve become good friends with Rod Sharp, the coach, and Col Rodgers, the president.

What do you like about the club?
The Bendigo league is a powerful league. I admire Gisborne’s … it’s almost courage … to resist going out and spending a lot of money for short-term gain. I love what the clubs stand for. They’re very community-minded and they’re committed to giving their young footballers and netballers every chance of becoming senior players. There is great loyalty and respect in the group.

Do you provide coaching advice?
I did last year. It was Rod’s first foray into coaching. But this year Rod is standing on his own two feet, and I can’t get there every week because I like to watch my two sons play. Nick plays at Old Ivanhoe and Rhy plays up at Thorpdale in Gippsland.

So how often would you see Gisborne play? Three or four times a year?
No, I’d say six or seven. And I see my sons six or seven times as well.

Have you got a favourite player at Gisborne?
I like them all, but Tom Waters plays pretty much a lone hand in the ruck. He’s got a lion heart, he gives everything every week. But they’re all great guys and they all give everything for their club.

What are you doing for a crust now?
Bits and pieces. Some consultancy work. Helping out a few people when I can.

Do you go to AFL games?
I do, when time permits. I love the AFL. I love the ferocious competitiveness of it. But I don’t like it when are all the players are within a 50-metre radius of the ball. It’s only when the game breaks open that we see the outstanding skill of the players.

You’ve watched a lot of AFL footy. Is it satisfying watching country footy?
I love watching country footy. They line up in their positions and most of the time they hold their positions. If someone lines up on a half-back flank, you know he’s going to play there.

The only problem, it was Rodges, Gieschen and Sharp that cause the club to lose good players to other clubs. Club needs a complete re-build, will take 4 years to recover.

might take 4 years 4 your average coach to rebuild but we are talking about the giesch here. He wont get a short term fix but theres no doubt he will get it right
Yep Giesch has a pretty decent country coaching record too, apart from an early to mid year slump Gisborne were better than where they finished last year with some talented youngsters, if they can keep sonogan they can build a team around him at either centre half forward or centre half back, rooth has some real x factor and if he can manage to talk knox, Waters and Summerfield to stay they will be more than competitive

Guys I wouldn't get to excited & caught up by the hype of the Geish,
Fact is he was an average at best AFL coach, very average umpire coach so what will all of a sudden make him a good coach at Gisbourne?
If he was any good don't you think he'd be toured by atleast a state level club be it in Victoria or interstate instead of hillbilly Gisbourne.

Roota,
here are your words,

Clearly tongue in cheak but social rooms and scoreboard were used to a different meaning than the way you have portrayed it.
The quote in the Addy reads a little different to your version

Can't speak for his time at Maffra but know first hand that if you questioned his cred in Wodonga you would get run out of town.
Will do a fine job if the passion and energy is there along with club support. Will connect very well with a young playing list
