Can't speak for his time at Maffra but know first hand that if you questioned his cred in Wodonga you would get run out of town.
Will do a fine job if the passion and energy is there along with club support. Will connect very well with a young playing list

Jeff will be a good fit for them especially when they look set to run with their locals after the loss of some key personnel. Anytime a Coaching vacancy opens up people think it should be filled by a player coming straight out of the AFL but the chances of that are extremely remote. The truth is that there isn't great competition for Coaching spots and guys aren't doing it for that long these days because there is so much work and scrutiny involved with it.

Roota,
here are your words,
Kangaroo Flat will be an extremely competitive in season 2016 because of a new scoreboard and clubrooms! Funny I though footy was played on an oval by 22 individuals.
Clearly tongue in cheak but social rooms and scoreboard were used to a different meaning than the way you have portrayed it.
The quote in the Addy reads a little different to your version

Why am I being bought into this. Didn't think I made comment on that article did I?

Agree Dragon, there does seem to be less applications for coaching roles over past years and usually you need to headhunt one. Agree most likely due to the demands of coaching and now the points & salary caps coming in makes it harder. It also involves education and development of young talent so it's full on. Even good assistants are hard to get as unless they are from your club and offering there services someone might require some form of payment.
On the Giesh, surely a great person if the club is moving towards playing more youth so more a quick rebuild maybe..

Have heard that a recently retired afl premiership player will be pulling on the boots for gisborne.
Just moved to the area apparently.

So Fitzpatrick was moved on, with the expectation that Collins would take the job, only for him to wreck a shoulder on bridgys' football trip which will see him miss at least the pre season, if not games. Therefore putting their plans up Shiite creek. Any word on a replacements replacement yet?

Well as usual I was correct! Sorry about the bragging but facts are facts! Word has it now a few of the Borough boys are really pissed off especially as Locky was shafted again. Filo,Threlfall,Findlay, just to name a few are only leaving because Monaghan was reappointed.Robbins was coming back too but because the weak hierarchy aka Reidy and Whitfort succumbed to the Lockington crew who threatened to leave if Monagahn was not reappointed have all scattered in all directions. Sad part about it is that alot of the fair dinkum Borough boys are all going too.To make matters worse the Lockington crew are expanding their power base too. Maybe Hudson can share some of his big $$$$$$$ around as the Borough haven't got much left in the bank.

So in other words the players run the Borough ?
Club should be bigger than players

One thing Locky has going for him is blokes like him and would want to play for him. He had blokes on board for next year that are twice the players these Lockington ****s are. Brodie Collins walks in and thinks he runs the show after a few years. It's disappointing the club has let it be this way because these blokes aren't world beaters and they will loose real borough players who have come up through the juniors. Poor management

It is going to get worse as rumour has it could be more Lockington area players heading to club which will only make their power base even stronger. Brodie Collins isn't that good anyway, but if you have Monagahan in your pocket,it doesn't matter. Captain for 2016 too.

Not that many of quality left out at LBU there rootboy ... most of the good ones buggered off last year hence LBU's fall from sustained success to second bottom on the ladder. Many ex-Rochy and ex-Echuca blokes prominent in that period of dominance since retired.

Is Brodie Collins (as part of a Lockington power base?) brother of Lachie Collins or cousin? Lachie sniffed around Rochy wanting $$$ and trained with them. The players didnt want him so he buggered off to Echuca. He was not missed.

Maybe the Burra knew by re-appointing Monaghan that Locky & his honcho's would leave, which is what they feel needed to happen for the club to head in a different direction to be better off in the long run, although it does seem from an outsiders perspective that the tail is wagging the dog.

It's not the first time Eaglehawk has baulked at giving Lock the job after he has been groomed or under the impression that he would get it. Obviously going to be some player departure but the overall bigger picture in building towards their next flag might not be harmed too much by it. They made the Prelim in 2013 there was a heap of departures in 2014 and people expected them to be terrible and they turned around and made an Elimination Final then were tipped for better things with Gretgrix and co rolling back in this year but finished 4th and a long way from possibly winning it which was a really disappointing result I would have thought. The Coaches time might have been up especially given they've made one Grand Final for a record defeat under him but if they can groom some young ones and sneak in the finals again it might be set up for someone to take over the year after. Not agreeing with the decision they've made from an outsider looking in but it might not be as bad as what some people might think. Who has actually left at this stage?

Button (retired),Threllfall,Findlay(Nth Bgo),Ketterer,Nicolson (Charlton),Wellington(Marong),Moore,Wust,Archibold(suspended/overseas),Filo(Shep),Craig,Thompson,Ryan twins(VFL),West(I'wood)..."G" train has recommitted to stay, but there are apparent whispers he still could be on the move. That's a possible 16 with at least half are confirmed as leaving. May be even some more too to add to list of departures.

No to sure about that, but I think if that's the case things will only go from bad to worse then. A player's history with other clubs tells a true story. If he was pissed off by fellow players he must be a prick then!

Challenging times then. Is there any confirmed recruits?
