Add Rex Taylor and Corey Wanganeen to that aswell. Two exciting young indigenous players from Echuca.

Hopefully they do - one finals appearance in the past five years, four draftees in total from the past three national drafts and back to back wooden spoons in 2005 and 2006 with a combined total of three wins in two seasons.

They're due for a change of luck!

what u have said is totally true but last years squad was underserving our their 2nd wooden spoon, injuries to key position players hampered them a lot especially with a question of the sides depth. but this year judging from practise games the team should go much better with a lot of depth throughout the squad

was a 6 quarter game. Pioneers dominated the first 3 quarters then both teams made a heap of changes and in the last 3 quarters it was ballarat with all the running and they ended up winning by bout 2 or 3 goals, hard to judge best players but josh gaylor once again played well up forward for pioneers

Just wondering if anyone could post the Bendigo Pioneers squad for 2007.

Thanks.

C. Eljay Connors - Grant Ford - Andrew Saladino
HF. Steven Stroobants - Robert Tarrant - Rex Taylor
FF. Josh Gaylor - Toby Thoolan - Corey Wanganeen
Ru. Jordan Florence - Grant Ford - Scott Selwood
I. Lech Featherstone - Mathew Jones - Jake Hall - Tim Martin

I'm currently living in melbourne but took the time to go watch Bendigo's Prac match on the weekend as Bendigo is my place of Birth and a friends son is playing for Ballarat Rebels at the moment. Big Echuca that line up is rather different then the line up Bendigo started with on the Weekend. And from what i was told the first 3 Quatres was Best 22 Vs Best 22. Unless you are in fact Jordan Florence you must be a very close friend becuase there is no way he will start on the weekend.

sorry i should have made myself clearer, you are correct. this is what i believe would be the pioneers best side. not their round 1 side. my apologies. also, i can garantee you i am not jordan Florance

My round 1 team:

FB: S.Dehne, T.Brooks, J.Donaldson

HB: S.Selwood, T.Thoolan, M.Millard

C: R.Taylor, G.Ford, J.Hall

HF: A.Craig, R.Tarrent, C.Wanganeen

FF: L.Featherstone, J.Gaylor, M.Elliot

Rucks: T. Martain, B.Holmes, S.Stroobants

Inter: E.Conners, B.Charlton-White, J.Florence, L.Coghlan

I don't know all the kids but from memory that's pretty much how they were playing. I would have rob touhey in there if fit though.
Jordy needs to play games now he's over the op, just training will not do it, needs games now.

Pioneers will make finals barring any major injuries, exciting team with skill and flare to burn and is encouraged by coach to take them on, which is a good thing. Might not always come off but little Rex Taylor showed on weekend, when it does it looks fantastic.

Most likely round 1 side if injuries get the all clear ( Florance & Tuohey)

they had a win...apparently best players were grant ford, robbie tarrant and arren craig

Tarrant's first quarter was as good as any ive seen in TAC Cup footy.Selwood very impressive aswell as Lehane.

Pioneers attracting attention from scouts this year; Holmes played well in patches. Donaldson only had one kicked on him but struggled to stand out after half time looked injured or sick (anyone know or just a bad game?). Ford was solid all day played a handy game. Florance improved on practice matches still along way to go.

Arryn Craig is a roughy for Vic Country. Has dominated practice matches and played well again Round 1. any thoughts?

Best: Selwood,Tarrant,Lehane,Craig,Healy

agree with arryn craig for vic country...also i think ford, holmes and donaldson should make the team..how was thoolen in the ruck?

young Arryn Craig holds on to the ball just a bit to long got caught a couple of times when had open players moving forward. Also just a point he needs to learn either how to stand up in a tackle or learn how to take a tackle, ducked his head twice to oncoming tacklers and got pinned twice.

Toby I thought played a great game took two good defensive marks and also won most of the hit outs he contested to Pios players advantage.

My boy Rex Taylor was also named in the best and did alot of work up and down the ground on his side wing, but like most of the 13 new kids will take a couple of games to get used to the quicker pace of TAC Cup footy.
