Criteria does not take into account longevity at all. Even 1 season could qualify. Name your team and the season(s) that player was at their peak performance.

Thoughts?

Hard to argue with any of those selections. But there will be players who have missed out who would have decent cases.

Jarryd Roughead strikes me as unlucky. Kicked 75 goals in the same year that a team mate kicked the ton, and also had another season of 75 goals and a Coleman winning 72 goals.

This looks more like just a best team.

How short can a peak be?

Justin Koschitske’s few games in a row in 2005 where he dominated were the equal of any four games any ruck/forward has played. I’d say they’d be the equal or better of Gawn’s top four games. He was absolutely unstoppable.

Another one that comes to mind is Chad Cornes. There were some times (2004 mostly) when he was playing CHB and running high, almost as a midfielder, and he was completely dominant both offensively and defensively. He was usually taking on a key forward but also getting huge amounts of the ball himself. He was better than what Rance was, just not at that level for as long. He later became virtually a full time mid.

Mark Bolton if peak is contained to only games where he tagged Adam Goodes.

Similarly, Vickery vs Pies in 2014 or so was a sight to behold.

I said to state the season in the OP so I guess one particular full season could be a minimum criteria otherwise it can just turn into individual matches..

I do remember that one game, Vickery kicked 6 against the Pies with 21 disposals and 10 marks, playing as a mobile ruck, baulking opponents running through the centre sqaure, he dominated the ground that day, it really was a blinder.

Had of he been able to do that more than one game of his career we'd have had a player worthy of this illustrious group
