Abbott was absolutely just as bad/maybe worse with his religious views that ended up being basically bigotry (especially against the LGBT community) but for some reason (I suspect those global propaganda merchants of Hillsong Church had a lot to do with it) Slow-Mo's homo and transphobic rhetoric and polices (not to mention inhumane and barbaric policies on Asylum Seekers/refugees) seemed to have far more impact in the media here and the ignorant and cowardly voters.

The good news is thanks partly to social media and other factors, the youth vote had perhaps made its biggest impact on the Australian (Federal) political scene in the 60s, and hopefully will see the end of bigoted, out of date and generally backwards hard Right Wing Conservative Government in our great country

Even after the passing of Benedict late yesterday, there was still time to send through changes to ClarkeM, or nominate a new sub if you were happy to have your sub taking the Pope's spot on your list

That's what I did yesterday - I submitted my initial list at 3pm yesterday with Benedict reportedly alive at the time, though due Barbara Walters death earlier in the day, I had bought my sub into my final 20 but forgot to replace my sub - didn't realise that at the time tough...

I got home about 10pm last night, saw that Benedict had died & reviewed my list with consideration as too who would be my new sub. Realising my error, I messaged Clarke with my 2 changes - 1 to replace Benedict, and the other as sub in case anything happened over the next 20 or so hours

It's not that we've had two deaths of note since 12:01 AEDT
