Probably a bit extreme.
I think what we need is for the board to back in a new coach with a 5 year plan.

We need a new board, then.
Isn't Matthew Lobbe the head of development? I've also heard Dominic Cassisi is spending time down there too...

Remember what Kenny said after the 21 prelim debacle... we don't know what went wrong but we will rebound hard and improve out of sight... lol 0-5 start and season over. We get his mate Dixon coming out on Radio publicly bagging supporters.
We got a glimpse of the potential of this squad in Rd 1 but it will never be more than that unfortunately. We are unfit, we've traded out a 10 year ruckman in Ladhams, we've destroyed MG - and he'll probably end up getting traded as well. Butters? Bergman? Duursma? Sinn?

You want to rebuild around a downhill skier?
I’d be gutting the team, trade those with value out like Wines, Georgiadis, Bergman, and delist all the hacks including Jonas, DBJ, Lycett, Clurey etc. Boak to retire.
It is time for a new senior coach and a total rebuild. The bones of talent are there. I would be building a team around Rozee, JHF, SPP, Burton and Marshall. All the rest of the players should be on the table for trade.
Plus a new Chairperson and CEO, as both Koch and Richardson need to go.

Jonas, Lycett are too old and slow.
We should probably only play one of Boak or Wines. The midfield mix long term seems reasonable but both are best suited to inside, can’t kick and are slow.
DBJ should just be made to fight for his place rather than get in as DVC. I think he might improve with the rocket of being dropped.
We need one decent TALL defender to free up Allir and a ruck that isn’t offering SFA.

We’d look ok with a mobile ruck and a tall defender. Everyone else probably ok.

Credit to Connor. He has raised his game to a very high level and consistently performs. He wasn’t super against Collingwood obviously but he fought tooth and nail to keep us in it last night. It was alarming how little help he got from the other mids, especially Wines and Butters. Right now, he, SPP and Dixon are leading the way for consistent, unquestionable effort.
In terms of JHF, I clearly expect too much from him at this early stage of his career, especially given the fact he had off-season surgery and a limited preseason. The brilliance is there to see and his foot passing, along with that of Williams at the lower level, is the best we have. Better than Farrell, Houston, Butters. He’ll be a champ - there’s little doubt about it. Maybe this year has to be about developing that young midfield and we take the lows with the highs. He got off balance a few times against the Crows when tracking contested ground level balls and it looked like his opponent was able to run off him too easily. He had seven tackles but it seemed to me that he had another seven broken. But he’s a 19 yo in his third game for a new club that is terribly coached with 80% of his teammates playing worse than him. I’m not sure it’s that much of a better environment than he had at North last year tbh. He’ll be great and alongside of Rozee will give us great moments and hopefully success under a new coach and off-field and on-field leadership regime.
In terms of who else we have, Sinn showed fantastic signs in the first half yesterday. Signs of potential eliteness. He needs to build fitness and consistent form, but he looked every bit an inside, clearance mid.
Butters is a mystery. For a self-proclaimed competitive beast, he’s hardly sighted at the moment and seems to make the wrong decision for most of the contests he’s involved with.
The preseason hype of Duursma, Bergman and Burgoyne has already faded to a humbler reality. Georgiades is more brittle than he was last year.
It all points to coaching and training instruction. Change that, and all these highly touted young players could look invincible.
