I wouldn't be shocked, and I think there'll be some suitors. He'd be a real weapon in a team that had the luxury of just plonking him on a HFF.

The way I see it, he has two options:
He can see out his remaining years kicking goals from a flank in a winning side and possibly even extend his career, or;
He can stay with us and get absolutely smashed from pillar to post in the midfield of the worst side in the comp.

Not sure I'll be able to blame him if he walks.

We base our 'Murph as a small forward' projection on his goal kicking form well over 5 years ago. Recent history suggests that he doesn't take responsibility for kicking goals (this may be the captaincy messing with his natural game) and size and injury combine to ensure he'll never be able to apply manic pressure. The best we can hope for from HFF Murph is an upgraded but older Matthew Wright.

Yes actually, my computer has been getting repaired.:p Wanna catch me up on what I have missed regarding Wines?
He has basically announced the reason he's putting off signing with Port is that he feels this is his last real chance to move back to Melbourne. If he signs on with Port he feels he will likely stay for the duration of his career. So he's thoroughly considering his options before making his decision.

Cheers mate. The last I heard was that it was almost certain he was re-signing.

Re Murphy imo:

He won't go.
He shouldn't go.
He won't go.
I'll be fine with him staying.
If he goes...i wouldn't bat an eyelid and would deep down be a bit happy to move on from him.
Carlton F.C. have , and will, butter his bread better than elsewhere would.
He won't go.

No shit they aren't at the club. Aren't we discussing the hypnotically situation if we do pick them up?

You keep moving the goal posts of what is being discussed. And are being argumentative for arguments sake.

Done "discussing" this hypothetical with you, lad.

Reading through the Port board, the 'vibe' is they'd be happy with pick #1. Plenty of posters making mention of his scattergun delivery and missed shots on goal this year.

VC in open discussion with media about his 'state of mind' - to be resolved in coming few weeks - reads like gimme a bit moooore Port and lets close the deal real soonish...

pathetic the way these contracts are played out in public imo.

Yep a speedboat with jet engines!

Could go either way really....
