100% correct.

The calibre of deals done today are small compared to what the clubs are holding off until tomorrow night to do.

It wouldve been agreed to in a broadcast agreement. E.g a certain amount of high end deals must get done in this time period etc etc.
Is the last day of the trade period being broadcast on foxfooty?

Re Scrimshaw: it shows how stuffed GC are...

They pay pick 7 for the bloke, develop him for 2 years only to have him snatched for a future pick 69 (net).

Meanwhile the dawks skip two years of development and give GC only 3% of what GC originally paid (in pick points value) and GC don't collect until next year!
Sounds like he was having some off field issues or family issues which was affecting him.

Any mention of pick 7 still gives me a nervous twitch.

Just be becuse a footballer doesn't launch head first into a pack evey time does not make him conditional.
Hall is vey skillfull , well balnced, good footy IQ and vision. That's a quality footballer. Not all players are meat heads alla raging bull type. Courage and good application are great to have but one needs to be talented. That's the reason is wanting free flowing higher scoring less congested game.

He is the very definition of a conditional footballer.

He purposely loops his handballs to ensure he gets another possession in a chain of play. This info comes directly from another player at the GC. He's also not interested in defensive running.

This is the sort of shit he is about and we better thank SOS for keeping him away from our young group.

When will the AFL release the timeslots for tomorrow evenings announcements....

Thinking something like this might eventuate-

6.30pm- Neale announcement
6.45pm- Hogan announcement
7pm- May announcement
7.15pm- Beams announcement
7.30pm- Scully announcement
7.45pm- Kelly announcement
8pm- Amon/Newman announcement:think:
8.15pm-Wingard/Burton announcement
8.29pm- Shiel announcement

I think Bell, Wright and Dodoro have a deal where they only do a deal with GWS in the last minute. Salary Cap breach if you don't give a away Scully, Sheila and Lobb for unders.

Ugh, this trade (and draft) coverage thing is so cynically commercial, so shamelessly cheap, concocted and makey-uppy, like everything else the AFL touches - such blatant steps to shape the product into something it's not in ways that nobody has really asked for (aside from the league's commercial partners, of course). A naive attempt to trump up prestige by mimicking US sports in the misplaced belief that this will somehow elevate the status of the game. It's all a bit embarrassing, really.

The only thing keeping me invested in any way is the love for my football club - the rest of the 'show' is of less interest with each passing minute.

I don’t believe for a second that the Bombers will let this fall apart. It’s not just losing Shiel, no other club or player will want to deal with them after that. Completely undermines any future activity.

Agreed, there is no way that this deal doesn't go through. It's all posturing really.

I don't know why GWS would be surprised when they chose to deal with Essendon. Better to deal with the devil you know (SOS) than the devil you don't (Dodo).

We have always been transparent in our dealings and fair to deal with. This is GWS' mess now, they can sort it out.
