I would be very surprised if we have anymore involvement in any trades tomorrow

Setterfield our number 1 target of the 2016 draft (got him in the end).
Sam Walsh, maybe our number 1 draft pick of the 2018 draft.
Andrew Russell, the best high performance manager in the AFL (6 premierships at 3 clubs).
McGovern, a nice hybrid mid-tall forward/back (hopefully 75% as good as his bro).

I would be more than fine if we do nothing else. Sam Walsh will be a jet.

Yep we certainly could use another tall defender

Sarcasm much?

Rowe goneski in a year.
JGM and ASOS already gone.

AFL: May, Weitering, Marchbank
VFL: Jones, Macreadie, Schumacher

Looks good to me.

Reckon Weiters, Marchy, Doc, Willo and Plowman would really benefit from having a burly enforcer at their back.

Ugh, this trade (and draft) coverage thing is so cynically commercial, so shamelessly cheap, concocted and makey-uppy, like everything else the AFL touches - such blatant steps to shape the product into something it's not in ways that nobody has really asked for (aside from the league's commercial partners, of course). A naive attempt to trump up prestige by mimicking US sports in the misplaced belief that this will somehow elevate the status of the game. It's all a bit embarrassing, really.

The only thing keeping me invested in any way is the love for my football club - the rest of the 'show' is of less interest with each passing minute.
It’s cringeworthy isn’t it. Dal Santo and McClure today didn’t even know how long the league has been running for today, about 100 years they said. They just crap on and go off on a meaningless tangent. Get some structure and analysis a list properly (in this instance GC). All these other “experts” do a best 22 and don’t even consider a player like Williamson who was a rising star who played 15 games in a debut season.

Precisely, unless a very attractive deal is offered , which may wel for either of our 1’st rounders’ present and or future, we've done well.
I’d be hoping for a mature player or 2 as DFA, as we can outbid anyone within reason, as we didn’t splash out on Shiel acquisition.

Where’s this May talk coming from?

Probably random speculation off the back of a vague statement from his manager that he'd be happy if a trade could be coordinated to get him back to Victoria.

Don't think he's actually on our radar, or that we're on his - but would be stoked if SOS blind-sides Melbourne and Collingwood to get him.

I find them very entertaining, are you get in depth discussion? No

But from a driving to work (WA so 730-9am is perfect) they are very entertaining together

Recent news was that he just wants to get to a Victorian club, I think he forgot to add the caveat " in finals contention" sounds like the Neale to Brisbane trade is gumming up the works that people are panicking.

Someone with common sense !!
just because you agree with someone doesn't mean everyone else doesn't have common sense...

You 1st mention pick 1 for may and brodie. Then you change it to next years 1st for the same 2. Then you make an arguement coniglio wont choose us if we dont win more games.

Fact... we will be a better team next year than this year.
Fact... players arent dumb! Just because shiel choose essendon this year doesn't mean he or others will next year. Add another 22 games to our kids and people will know we are on the up massively in 2020 and so on.

May isnt worth a top 5 pick let alone a top 10 with a 2nd coming back. Brodie is maybe pick 20 at best currently. So to suggest either pick 1 or next years 1st (1-5) isnt common sense. If you wanted to make a common sense approach, you would try and find a way to find a pick 20 and a pick approx 12 for the 2 that doesnt jeopardize us getting the so called best in the draft this year and also doesnt hurt our chances of going after a big fish next year.

Anyways, if you think its a good idea to send those picks for those 2 players, then ill just back away and say i strongly disagree

So how many wins extra will May and Brodie get us? Its fantasy land to think those 2 will get us enough wins to get those players you speak of.
The less players we need to carry the better, especially your main Beckman. Whenever we played WCE, Sydney, GCS (now Richmond) I would twitch thinking of either Rowe or Jones on these guns. Honestly would you feel better knowing May was playing on them? Imagine the rest of the backline, they'd love it. This isn't measured in wins, it should be measured with confidence and assurance that Doc/Crippa/Simmo/BB know they can rely on May getting the job done, insyead of worrying about what ifs. That is immeasurable.

Not worth the assets spent to get him when we have far bigger concerns to address.
