Neither...if I was gonna pick up anyone as a DFA, it would be Nathan Freeman. Still only 23, absolute bull, and looks like he may finally got his body right. Deserves a chance.

With Andrew Russell on board, would be worth the risk....if anyone could get him right

He ticks all of SOS's boxes as well. Fits the age profile we're after, former first round draft pick and most importantly is extremely injury prone.

Thanks. And FWIW, I reckon Silvagni did well. Added 3 clear and one fringe best 22, lost nobody, kept our first rounders. Didn’t get Shiel, but we did come last - amazing we were in it at all. Once we missed Shiel we were never going to blow next year’s first or the salary cap space on an average, seasoned mid. Both those things - the cap space and the pick - are too valuable if we rise a bit and are therefore an attractive destination for a proper gun (Kelly, Coniglio, who knows who else) next year

Totally agree and thanks for all your info :thumbsu:

Brilliant trade period . I’m rapt with the end result and adding Walsh has me excited about the future. My entire family are hard core inside swans and rate Nick Newman. They were happy to see Rohan and Hannerby gone but believe Newman has loads of potential . I’m also quietly confident the big surprise packet next year will be Fasolo. 40+ goals

With pick 1 of the 2018 AFL draft Carlton select .... Sam Walsh from the Geelong Falcons.

With pick 1 of the AFL draft Carlton select..... A bazillion picks from Port or the Crows :)

Hang on.... Which one is the fringe player?

as there is a mid season trade period next year, surely we would look at delisting one of the excess rucks we have in Phillips or Lobbe. I feel having,

Kruz
Lobbe
Phillips
Cas
TDK

is too much and if we are looking at guys to cut then its at least one of the bottom 4 names on that list. We can play them at NB and rookie them mid season if needed.

Suppose SOS accepts an offer for 3 Picks for Pick 1.
(Think GWS, Crows, Port and GC).

And we want later picks too for Hickmott and BSOS in case they are bid on.

In that scenario, we would need to delist 5 Senior List players ...
who else goes after Rowe, Kerridge, Graham and Lamb?
