I hope it is untrue. And nothing against Sicily personally.

The last thing we want are "coach's favourites" coming into the Club. Frequently they do not work (Chris Johnson, Daisy) and they are bound to cause disruption to the list and/or resentment. Finally, their presence suggests undue influence by the coach into the List Management domain and the recruiting domain, both domains being outside, although adjacent to, the coaching domain.

Apparently he was contacted 2 months ago. Doubt BB has had anything to do with it

I like the idea of barker being the nth blues development coach.
I didn't rate him as an assistant coach but boy did he impress me as a senior coach. Maybe this is the best way to get the most out of his talents.
I'm with OB... don't rate him as an assistant, but he is well on the way to becoming a successful senior coach. As ODN said, an extended run as the senior coach at the Bullants would be a good step in the right direction for him. After all, 2 years spent as the senior coach at Box Hill didnt hurt his career prospects.

First couple of jobs is to get Kreuzer and Yarran to stay.
According to the presentation, Trigg announced that Kreuzer is happy with this and should be signing up shortly. He addressed that to all the Carlton supporters who have been making waves about the club re-signing Kreuz :D

Another piece of news but I have no idea it's validity is that we are looking at securing young Hawthorn small forward James Sicily. Anyone heard about or seen this guy play?
I heard it too, in my head, when I was watching him play and screamed to myself "GET SICILY, CARLTON!"

But yes as another poster stated I did bring him up a month or so ago, no inside info, I just rate him very highly.

Two good pieces of news today. Thanks Dram.

Yeah, he seemed very keen to mention Kreuzer, D-Ram. Combined with the fact that he grabbed at his tie and had sweat running down his face, pretty sure that he woke with a horse's head next to him this morning.

What rubbish. You probably haven't seen Sicily at all. We don't need a small to medium goal kicker? At the moment we only have Menzel, Armfield and Tutt.

What you're describing is high price trades, Sicily would be a list need and cheap get.

Could have been worse... could have been his mistresses head :p

You're missing the point. I did say "I have nothing against Sciliy personally".

No, I am describing "process". Someone else suggests we have put out feelers for him before BB's appointment. That is fair enough, so long as it has nothing to do with being a "favourite son", no matter how good he is or how much we need a small medium goal kicker.

He had a very good year last year too - was pretty handy in their losing GF side, IIRC. Is a mobile tall forward - a less developed version of Jack Gunston.

Think it was more directed at the (unnecessary) commotion the media had developed recently.

The Neil Craig coaching director rumour from a while ago may come to pass after all.

If we're into Sicily, perhaps we may be keen on a trade involving Yaz.

Yaz + 56 for Sicily + 16?

He'd certainly get the opportunity - him and Yaz would be nice in the same F50.

His Hawks profile says this:

A high half-forward with great hands and a penchant for the spectacular, Sicily showed a bit in his first season on the Hawthorn list, with 20 goals in 18 games for Box Hill. Has a bit of flair about him as well and will become an immediate fan favourite when he gets his first game for the Hawks.

A 20 year old forward who's been killing it for the VFL minor premiers with a connection to Bolton; likely to come very cheap and most importantly is a known goal scorer. With us having lost so many of these in recent seasons (Betts, Garlett, Waite, Robbo, Hendo) - it's a smart move if we can pry Hawks' first for Yaz.

Not sure that he'd come 'cheaply', Mat. The guy is talent and we'd no doubt have to pay fair recompense.
Not going to get a lot of game time in that forward line, unless there are injuries. Opportunity to play may be enough to spark interest.
