How can he be cannon-fodder for young blokes when he handballs to them regardless of how closely they're being checked?

Cripps is a freak, but his ability to handball to a player in space is what's keeping our midfield afloat. He'll overlook two or three options to find the right one.

Tutt will handball to a bloke standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him if he thinks he's about to get tackled. Result: other bloke gets tackled instead. I've seen it dozens of times, he motors the legs, runs in a circle hoping to find some space, and then takes the closest available option when he realises he's screwed the pooch.

If he can get loose out the back when we affect a turnover he can do some damage, but he's a liability in contested games if he's being played on the ball.

As I said, a good team will have a specific role pencilled in for him that suits him, but on our list he's going to struggle.

Re tutt.. Pretty simple problem to solve i would say. Are you implying that our new coach is not blessed with enough insight into the game of afl to see what you see? Otherwise we should look at his positive attribute...pace and goal kicking ability. Plus he came free didnt he? Worth another chance rather than writing him off.
