IF you read/heard what Vossy said to the media about our trading and drafting strategy the past couple of years in regards to the NGA and father son rules then you'd know that we thought about the Campo twins this far out too.
Just my gut feel, is that we thought they’d be rated higher and will change our strategy.

A lot can change in two years.

I disagree with Fishers stance regarding our list, I’d be thinking about maximising our chances at a flag the next few seasons.

If we fall off a cliff afterwards, then so be it.

That’s who Id go for and think is gettable imo as well.
I mean, Haynes would be ok, but again May is that little bit younger I think. So if u ask the question and he’s genuinely interested, then I’d go there

I’d be happy with a straight swap for Cerra

Much prefer we grab Fritsch rather than let May through the door

Fritsch would be great but I think a key defender is the priority.

I know alot of people on here don’t like the idea, but for age sake I’d go for Bailey smith

Peoples opinions are too easily influenced by bad tattoos, bad hair styles, if someone got suspended against us, or uses instagram too much.

Output vs cost is what’s important.

We should be having a chat, missing a year with an ACL has hurt his trade value but I still worry about the possibility of re injuring the knee

I see the appeal in it but it's risky for a club like us doing this, as we have zero evidence we could get a flag and bounce back in shape.

Geelong, Collingwood & Swans can pull it off.

North went hell for leather and just made Prelims and have been in the wilderness since.

Essendon did it with Stringer, Saad, Smith, Shiel and it didn't work.

West Coast got nowhere after parting with 3x 1sts(?) for Tim Kelly.

Richmond tried to pull it off with Taranto & Hopper and look to be in the North-esque zone for the next decade (albeit they won 3 flags)

There's probably other examples. I'd say it doesn't work more often than it does.

There’s a big difference between our list and the ones you mentioned.

We currently have two AA defenders, two AA midfielders, ones a Brownlow medalist and two AA Coleman medalists, we will also have another AA defender come seasons end.

I’m not saying to go after a specific player, but our list is ready to add missing pieces for a flag push

We will shed some cap space with the cumulative effect of Marchy, Cunners and Martin moving on, but you wonder if we would put Williams on the market and see if there are any takers. Would be more about clearing cap space vs any draft pick incoming, but there a lot of clubs (Roos, Dons, Hawks, Tigers, Saints) with plenty of space to accommodate… I’d rather keep someone like Owies vs a very talented, but overpaid and injury prone Williams.

I feel like we’ve been doing that.

The addition of Saad & Williams, then Cerra, then Acres, then Hollands.

If we’re still not there, how do we get the remaining missing pieces? We might have to trade one of our guns for 2-3 top role players.

Looking back, the Dow, O’Brien & SPS picks really cooked us a bit.

Imagine we’d picked these instead

Dow - LDU
O’Brien - Ed Richard’s
SPS - Harry Perryman or Will Haywood

Every club has busts. We have more than enough talent on our list - that’s not the issue.
