Where is that coming from?
Should’ve prefaced my post with “been told”.

A relative with close ties to the Swans.
I told them they probably meant Ben, but they were adamant it was Harry.
Anyway I said we’ll have Heeney and Gulden then.
I don’t for one second think it will occur, but it came out of the blue and I thought I’d post, as it is a rumour.

They also get Reid off their books.
I expect Swans to throw the suitcase at Ben King. He seems the most likely to me.
They've got an amazing record of poaching key forwards from elsewhere though.

It's been the Sydney way to poach a Coleman medal winning forward and plonk them at FF for a decade, no doubt they will be trying for McKay the king brothers or anyone else they can get their hands on.

I think a lot of these Harry McKay rumours are just being lazy. Our forward line is functioning fine without Harry, so people are attaching him as a trade target. He isn’t going anywhere because our list management team isn’t run by idiots.

Would be easier for them to pick up Ben and turn him into a forward then to get Harry

Considering for the best part of 3 or 4 years we've hardly had the 2 of Charlie and Harry play consistently together. When one is injured we've been fortunate enough for the most part to have the other one available. Can't see people telling Geelong to retire/trade Hawkins the last couple as Jeremy is enough power forward for them.

Harry does a bit of everything for us. Pinch hits in the ruck, defensive stopper on the wing, he is at his best in the forward line. I hope all of our supporters know just how valuable he is. I would never entertain trading Harry just because Charlie is so bloody good as well.

Anyone know if this poster gets reliable mail?
I do work for people up Gippsland way, and they were telling me about the chatter going about. Don’t usually get mail on anyone but players from around south east. (I’m ex st Bedes boy) so there’s been a few to come out of st Bedes last few years

I reckon the game he played against Freo was probably his best for the year, 20 possies 3 goals, pushing up the ground and sending the ball long into the f50 with that left foot, is also quicker than Charlie so can really put pressure on the ball.

Actually thought Charlie would have been the guy to be that link style player pushing up given his purported tank but Harry played it perfectly and think it's a great way to use him going forward.

Not keen on making bold statements generally but ..... no chance he is leaving.

the above, I hope the 2 of them work into a Buddy/Roughed type partnership

Gulden, Chad Warner, Heeney, Amartey and a future first may just do it for H

:)

Ps - he’s going nowhere

Thought it’s interesting that if Geelong wins at home this weekend against Port then we will likely be playing Melbourne when they are second on the ladder - so another big test following this weeks match up with 5th.

In my opinion Melbourne is our biggest threat for the Flag - they are improving each week, have a more effective forward set up now and still have upside from Oliver’s return.

Collingwood’s record against the other top 5 flag favorites is poor - losses against Dees, Lions and Us and only beat Port by 2 points. Brisbane have MCG issues and Port could be about to drop four straight. Melbourne looms large at the pointy end of the season.

It would be remiss of Swans not to go hunting for a big marquee player to replace Buddy. I heard a caller from Sydney on SEN during the week saying that it's a very different market up there than down in Melbourne, and the success/growth of the game up there has been largely due to the big names in Plugger and Buddy generating interest and pulling in the crowds.

Personally, I would love to see Ben King headed down there next year, followed by his brother the following year. You could only imagine the marketing of that pairing up there.

Either way, it's unlikely big H is going anywhere in a hurry....as Cooky stated in his interview on SEN last week when questioned on his contract "Harry's going to remain at Carlton, he's going nowhere."

205cm KPF’s of Harry’s caliber aren’t that easy to find, was playing some really good footy further up the ground before the injury whilst his goal kicking action also seemed to be on the improve as well…

At the age of 25yrs old and just heading into the start of his ‘peak years’ we are going to have 2 of the most dynamic and dangerous forward KPF duo’s in the competition, the envy of ever other club in the competition…

WTF would you weaken or destroy such a powerful combination that is going to continue to give opposition clubs headaches whilst at times tearing them completely apart, along with a list/team that has began to show that it can now play a great brand of football, wait until we can get close to full strength for hopefully a sustainable run…

Not that it is or was ever going to happen, but just shows certain media people that have suggested it just have no idea…
