Might be mixing him up with Waterman? Seem to recall he was the one who signed long term on moderate money, then had a breakout year and wanted to try and renegotiate...hence the talk of him looking for a new club. Seems that was enough to spook WC into extending him for another couple of years now, and presumably adding a couple hundred grand to next year at the same time.

No, same issue was with Barrass IIRC.
They’d come to an agreement to amend it, which was to be adjusted but rolled through without action. Then it was too late & he was looking / being enticed elsewhere. $$ centric.

Sounds like Stone is either GWS, or off to ESS. GWS need to hold onto him IMO, too many exits requested, if not this year then the players being declined to move are OOC in ‘25.

Collingwood aren’t offering 2 x first round picks either so I doubt Port will get what they want for him unless Houston nominates North or St Kilda (which I doubt he will do)

There is talk of Noble being shipped to the Gold Coast potentially for their top pick.
If all they get out of it is an F1, they will probably tell the other 3 clubs to do a deal among themselves.
