Sounds more like Melbourne want to get his salary off their books so may take unders if Geelong take all of it.

Hasn't got much to do with the salary commitment. They're not trying to clear room for anyone. They are trying to appease a certain player that has caused a divide in the group and wants some "unprofessional types" out of their club if he is to stay.

Their club is attempting to move heaven and earth to do what is right by them which is going to result in a fractured player group.

Two firsts for SDK sounds like a big price in isolation.

But we’d be getting so much more than just a player for the price:

• a ready made key defender who can help our tilt at a flag immediately. Very difficult to fill this need.
• still only 23 years old
• premiership winning experience
• ideal partner to slot in next to Weitering
• also makes TDK staying with us a dead certainty

I think considering all of that it makes it very much worth it. Could be our Lever/May moment.

Soapy - it’s been bought to my attention in no uncertain terms (no lesser than the Minister for War and Finance and my psych) that I’ve been acting like a royal knob. I know better and I shouldn’t have posted what I did and I APOLOGISE. Some of us aren’t completely right between the shell likes and the medication when taken does help. It is a lot but the justification is solid.
Don’t think it would cost 2 1st, think it would all revolve around what Geelong pay for Smith/Oliver, if they make out like bandits they can’t ream us. Jeez there would be some moving parts to make that all happen and still get our other shit done, would be a nightmare - good thing is Geelong are known for just getting shit done quickly

Perhaps pick 35 coming back from the cats which we could couple with our pick 31 and offer to Brisbane for pick 18 …
Our first and FF unlocks plenty of opportunities for the cats if they’re after Smith and Oliver.
