I'm unsure whether I like it or not, but it would be something I could come to terms with, especially if it's not Lyon or Clarkson. As long as everyone remaining at the club is on the same page, I think some quality people may have a bigger impact than we expect
I find it hard to believe that the club will be able to attract quality assistants and other leadership positions though?

2 firsts?
What an idiot that guy is.
They'll want an early first, and 8 is probably too high, so we will need to find a way to get a lower pick.
Or maybe they'll bite at 2 later first rounders.
Or 8 + SPS with maybe a 2nd coming back

When did Luke Parker's name finally made these parts? Did I miss something?

Or we just generally speaking about list management?

And pick 6 ends up being a Yarran or SPS.
Meanwhile Parker's body starts breaking down over those 3 years, etc, etc. It's all guess work.
Regardless of the difference in quality between Parker and Cerra, I'm going with the 10 year player. It's not like he's rubbish.
Statistically, pick 6 is one of the worst picks to have. More busts than booms.
And Cerra doesn't come on... Goes both ways.

I wonder how many have actually watched him closely. He isn't that good atm. He has potential.

The hysteria today is laughable! Let's just be patient, there's plenty of time to get this right. If that means going through a 'proper' process then we should be happy. Get the right assistants around the head coach and then we're set.

As I posted yesterday, IMO the two roles of Head of Football and Football Director are the most pivotal for our future success. Let's aim to get these right...

If Clarkson doesn't want in....then I don't want Clarkson. Simple.
I believe the issue is that the club has a coach which they have not made a call on, yet they are sounding out external people, this is rubbish and is unethical for both Teague and any potential coach, make a decision and move forward, not a good look at all for the club.

I wouldn't have thought the club would keep Teague now simply because of perceived hit to memberships. It's a business after all.

Team cohesion is much more important and its broken at the moment.

Captain has been thrown under the bus publicly by the coach a couple of times this year, and now by his coaches manager.

How do you think that has gone down with the playing group?

Can't imagine well, so yeah that probably compounds the problem.

sensing a lot of smoke and shadows behind the windows

My (baseless) thoughts on what is happening:
-The club were obviously making a play for Clarko and were extremely confident as the offer would have eclipsed any current coaching contract
-Clarko + management heard the offer and knocked it back. $900k for a year off + whatever the AFL is going to pay him (outside the soft cap obviously) at GC was the same or more
-Now we go after another coach, but will keep Teague here so we can hardball them (I.e we’re more than happy for Teague to stay if you won’t accept xyz).
-we have to replace at least 2 assistants, probably 4, so we’re making sure we minimise costs so we don’t have to pay anything in soft cap tax
-Teague will be “officially” sacked when the other coach has agreed to terms with us

Really? Stop listening to the media. Sayers is trying to restructure and rebuild a whole footy department, Teague will know his future by now. Just because we don't doesn't mean the clubs doing things wrongly. In fact the continued lack of leaks and not caving to the media ridiculousness is really good to see. Proper process, thinking about every decision.

We should swap Pick 6 for Pick 7 then. Let some else pick the dud at Pick 6 and we'll take the star at Pick 7 !!

Exactly and our recent development with kids ain’t that good.

You know what you are getting with Parker and the leadership he can bring to our young Mids would be immense. I am not saying Cerra is no good at all but he is no where near Parker’s level IMO.

Teague conducting exit interviews is interesting, as are Cripps' comments this morning

I think this is a case of read the fine print, this is his stance at the moment.

Currently publicly only one club has approached him (Collingwood), he doesn't want to coach them so as it stands right now, he and his manager are correct.

Should the situation play out and another job come up who's to say?

Media obviously getting frustrated at us keeping our cards close to our chest so they're trying to flush the story out anyway they can.

Teague doing exit interviews is fine, he won't be doing them alone and he still has good insight and feedback to give the playing group, or he should. Might also help with closure type of thing for players.

I’m sure we will start at SPS and a second.

As always it’ll end up somewhere in the middle. If he nominates us ofcourse.
We start with SPS & 2nd
They ask for SPS & 1st
A week goes by.....

We state the only way our 1st is included with SPS is they have to give back their 2nd as well

They counter with we will require your 3rd back.

Deal gets done early on final day

Carlton:
Out- SPS, 1st rd pick, 3rd rd pick
In- Cerra, Freo’s 2nd rd pick

Freo:
Out- Cerra & 2nd rd pick
In- SPS, Carl 1st & 3rd rd picks

First time poster, long time stalker!
Have to say, yesterdays events created so much excitement I loved the feeling in here and what it brought to conversation with my loved ones.
Although it hasn't turned out like that, full respect to ITKs posting and putting it on the line with the info they receive.
Its what we all wait for and the conversation any info brings is fantastic!
Looking forward to what the future brings for the blues at least. Hopefully something good around the corner!

'Tis better to have bluemoured and lost than to never have bluemoured at all...
