Not happy with our AA half back?
If you want a small forward in that range, yes Delean over O'Driscoll, no debate at allYou said 'If looking at a smaller forward I'd prefer O'Driscoll'... Who plays as a wing and has no proven ability as a full time small forward. Delean in comparison has played forward nearly his entire junior career and has consistently been a prolific goal scorer throughout.
The bolded are contradictory to one another. Yes, there is more to a small forwards game than just kicking goals, but if he consistently hits the scoreboard as a goal sneak that means he's doing the core of his job consistently. If Owies kicked 50 goals in a season none of us would care if he was averaging 5 disposals a game, his main role in the team is to apply pressure and bob up for a goal or two making the most of his limited opportunities. Disposals up the ground, overall score involvements and turning the ball over via pressure are areas for Delean to improve upon but playing as a forward pocket, he's almost as consistent as they come
That's a weird thing to say Kramer, why would you say that?I think it would be far easier to recruit Hollands from the SA or WA teams.
Kempy in 17 is super appropriate for mine. I have him the closest in type to Crosswell since the great man made Princes Park home.
An incidental topic, but quite interesting.
Jack Carroll has Campo’s old number and absolutely is entering a career defining year. If he can’t get semi regular senior games, or at least dominate the twos, it is hard to see him on the list post 2024, which could free up #16 for one of Campo’s boys. The Campo boys have been wearing a variety of numbers, none of which have been 16 in juniors.
The other question is if we allocate the #35 of stalwart Ed Curnow? On a couple of occasions through the season, Hudson O’Keeffe surprisingly wore #35 in the twos and “looked good” in it.
The Campo boys have regularly worn 1 and 2, at rep level, with Lucas wearing 1 at club level with Ben in #11.
It is hard to believe that 2 and 4 will be kept vacant for a couple of draftees the following year.
Further to the numbers game, if recruited does E.Hollands take up the now vacant #36 he has worn at the Suns? Theoretically with 34,35, and 36 vacant we could put the Irish in adjacent lockers, but would it be better to surround them by mentors rather than “segregation”
Nothing overly important, but hey 10 minutes of incursion in to my bored existence.
Delean's an interesting one....I've seen him rated as high as pick 13 and as low as pick 35 in the various player ratings.Firstly, I wasn't comparing Delean and O'Drisscoll as just playing a pure forward role ans as stated previously, moreso looking for a player that could play forward and on ball
Yes, Delean does kick goals in all his outings, but how does that contradict my statement of him being on or quiet. More to a small forwards game, than just kicking goals at junior level
I wouldn't mind either as a 3rd pick ( if we added another late 2nd/early 3rd, I'd just lean to O'Driscoll
Walsh #2??
This is the kid I'd take in the 2nd round if we wanted a 3rd tall forward
Hopefully he gets Fotia’s blessing…..I don’t mind this

Points given for joke quality.
Well I'd be a long time waiting for this board to catch up...with a handful of exceptions...you know who you are.Points given for joke quality.
Points taken off for having to post yourself to set up the punchline.

Going to speak to the other side of this. Delean is a talent, but has shown next to no defensive intent in the games I have seen. He is a quality goal kicker. Our structure demands that our small forwards work up the ground. Delean has the skills to become in a star. In another era would be a great get. Will need to step up his workrate and defensive mindset to make it in modern footy.First off, O'Driscoll plays predominately off a wing. He rotates fwd on occasion but he's by no means a specialist small fwd. In interviews he even says he mainly plays wing with little stints up forward, but mainly plays in the midfield.
Secondly, Delean is renowned for his ability to nearly always hit the scoreboard in games regardless of if he's having a day out or not. Averages 3 goals a game as the SANFL U18's leading goalkicker this season. Kicked over 50 goals this year across 20 games at all levels... Not sure I'd say that's someone who goes quiet too often?
Not advocating for either player, but to compare them and make out as if O'Driscoll is a consistent fwd option while Delean is hot and cold is simply incorrect.
Did you just say ?Hooray!!
I like the sound of that no8 beer.
Here's to that.
Just say nose!
I can’t find the guernsey numbers topic from previous years but one of the Carlton facebook groups did ask a good question: who do we give our coveted numbers 2, 4 and 25 to?
New draft picks? Current players who have shown enough? eg Kemp
Or do we save some for the Camporeale brothers? Jack Carroll may not play beyond 2024 so giving one of the boys their olds man’s 16 is a possibility. Or do we give them 2 and 4 because the mathematician in me loves that 2^4 and 4^2 = 16

Am I reading too much into the OP or does this expand out further than Fish's comments? It’s back!
New trade burger meal, 100% inside beef, Hollandaise sauce and a silky outside bun. A developing ‘Number 8’ Draft beer included.
RB
They feel bad about Mansfield, O'Reilly, Lang and Smetds? Why would Geelong trade pick 8 for anything we have?
they don’t really need the players around that pick aka Caddy or O’Sullivan. Already have 2 gun key forwards and Ollie Henry, also have Sam de koning on the other endWhy would Geelong trade pick 8 for anything we have?
He’s staying at Port.Any more word on Josh Sinn??
We interested or just poking around?
And where would he fit into our team?
Very interesting. Love Duggan but not sure where he fits. Yeo the most dynamic that could fit if he could just get damn fit. From the WCE board
"Carlton enquiring about Elliot Yeo, Liam Duggan and Tom Cole
Baiscally said "can we have one of them please" to the Eagles
Id imagine Duggan is the movable one?"
Interesting if true.
