About to watch the replay, & plan to keep an eye on Carlisle as much as I can as he was the only real concern I had out of yesterday even though he kicked a couple including that vital one to get us back within touch. Doubt if I am the only one who still has reservations on him as a forward.

Luckily they didn't notice the clock was still elapsing for a while whilst Hooker was slowly jogging off with blood pouring out of his knee.

he was pretty good
but he gets a bit sooky lah lah at times if things don't go his way
and he gets distracted by players chirping at him.

but he kept presenting all day. i'm still not convinced HE thinks he should be forward
might be time to put Hooker forward after yesterday :p

He does look a bit lost as a forward - good luck breaking into that backline though.

Daniher otoh looks a natural.

Can we have all of Hooker, Jake and Hurls down back?

After yesterday Hooker and Hurls are working together perfectly. You don't mess with that sort of output.

I'm still backing Jake in up forward

Hypothetically, if we were to move him, who'd you drop from our current backline to replace with Carlisle? And who'd you move into the forward line?

You would not move either of Hooker or Hurley. Nor Baguley.

Why is there news im hearing that there has been a time controversy and that there should of been an extra 3 seconds or something? ffs why does everything have to have a controversy just enjoy the game and move on.

Who wants to bet Damo will be leading with this on **** heads Classified tonight?

yes well this is the dilemma, no way they mess with the defence atm. He is looking good 1st quarter considering he had Lake at times & the sun was an issue. I guess the bonus with playing him forward is he takes a quality defender & makes life a little easier for Daniher et al.

Its not a controversy, people have only just read the rules. Nothing in it. Play on

Inspection of the final quarter has revealed three seconds went missing from the broadcast clock midway through the final term.
When field umpire Dean Margetts bounced the ball to resume play after Breust put the Hawks one goal in front during the final term, there was 14 minutes and 15 seconds on the clock.
But when Margetts was forced to recall the ball after it sailed out of the centre circle, the clock kept ticking and three seconds disappeared.
This time was not recovered through the remainder of the game, however it was at no fault of the umpires or the timekeepers.
Under rule 10.5.2, in bouncing the ball Margetts recommenced the clock and under rule 10.5.3 he stopped the clock by blowing his whistle and raising his arm in the air.
Via rule 11.3.6 the field umpire has the ability to recall the bounce and throw it up if in his opinion the ruckman could not fairly contest for the ball, but there’s no account for time lost during this process.
Rule 10.5.1 stipulates when timekeepers can stop the clock and there appears no provision for this scenario

I think using Carlisle is such a position would be an utter waste, though.

He is absolutely good enough to be a forward. We've seen ample evidence of this.

Wouldn't we be too top heavy having any of Hooker, Hurley or Carlisle as the 3rd tall defender? Usually a 3rd tall forward is a bit shorter and more mobile than the KPFs.

Correct. More a Pears/Steinberg/Gwilt size.
