they accidentally swapped his arm and leg during surgery

Brodie Smith will be taking all midfield positions when he returns later in the year after his doctor botched the surgery.
Apparently they’re blaming a typo on the doctors appallingly bad writing for Brodie’s new body shape post surgery.

Yeah, he is gone for the season unfortunately. It probably happened in a year that nothing was coming together anyway. If we make a late run and fall short then we might look at this particular player, but more generally it doesnt look like it will have made any different.

I am not going to write off Brad's career. I am looking at Seedsman and there is still hope that he can get his body right and have a good career.

Sad news finally confirmed beyond any doubt.

Hey, Crows fans. Look over there!

Camporeale’s press conference today... holy shit. It was like Ian Scuttlebutt (you may use this) was holding up cue cards in the background.

“Culture.”

How long will the recovery time be?

Just read a Sydney player had groin surgery and was expected to be out for 4-6 weeks.
So what you’re suggesting is that he has missed a preseason and 10 weeks of this season all for an injury that when surgery is performed to fix it takes 4-6 weeks before a return?..

If this is true then of the surgery was performed in the preseason he’d have been back playing for us 6 weeks ago..

FMD..

I wonder when they realised it was OP for Brad?

Abdominal instability is often a cause of OP, especially excessive strengthening of the abs.

Didn't Brad have an abdominal injury initially? Was this another mismanaged strengthening program by Haas and Burton?

Wouldn't suprise me in the least.

Brad had groin problems all last year but managed to play some good footy despite the discomfort. He was cuddled through the pre-season and was rarely training with the main group. The idea was to slowly increase the intensity of the training so he would be ready to go for round one.

I suspect things weren’t going perfectly because it was subsequently announced he would not play until JLT2. When he ramped things up he suffered an abdominal strain and the groin problems returned in spades.

I don’t think “Fitness Gurus” can be blamed for pushing him too hard in the pre-season, quite the opposite. Perhaps we were too optimistic and should have gone straight for the surgery option.

The problem with Brad is that he has had three potentially career threatening injuries, the hamstring, the foot and now the groin.
